Over the years, I have truly fallen in love with the wonderful world of houseplants. I dedicated 15 years of my life to the Health Care Industry as a Radiographer, but unfortunately, I fell victim to a bucket load of chronic illnesses that ultimately left me unable to do a job that I genuinely loved. During recent years of being unable to work and discovering my new normal, I fell deeper into the houseplant world and developed a deep fascination for them. After countless hours of internet research, watching planty YouTube videos, chatting with other local growers and implementing my learnings on my own houseplants, I have seen my collection expand and thrive beautifully. Just like repotting plants can be a bit jarring to them initially, I feel like my life has been lifted out of its cozy pot and shaken around a bit. But as with plants, it turns out this shake-up was the best thing that could have happened to me, setting me on a better path and allowing me to continue to grow and thrive. I would love nothing more than to share my passion for plants with you and your collection! Whether it be us repotting together, where I can impart some wisdom that has worked wonders for me, or if you’re a busy individual just wanting the work done efficiently, I’ve got you covered!

If you’ve grown Philodendron Verrucosum before, you’ll know she’s a DIVA! 👑

Super long internodes and not rooting into the moss pole have been my biggest issues!
I thought I was doing good at keeping the moss pole moist, but obviously not good enough for her standards!

Not to mention the very fine roots she has, compared to other Philodendron, meant the roots in the pot weren’t anything to write home about.

So I decided it was time to try something different! I know this combo of semi-hydro and a moss pole isn’t new but it is a new way of growing for me.

My hopes for this are:

1️⃣ Semi-hydro to keep the roots in the pot consistently moist and happy
2️⃣ Thicker, plastic moss pole to keep the moss moist for longer
3️⃣ Multi-planting to fill in the gaps of the long internodes

Stay tuned for updates and keep your fingers crossed for me! 🤞

🪴Swipe ➡️ for the glow-up!

This Monstera Deliciosa came to me looking sad and floppy… but the roots were actually in great shape. With a fresh mix, the right support, and a proper drink, it bounced back fast.

What I did (so you can copy it at home):

💚 Mix: TRC’s Premium Chunky Aroid Mix (airflow + drainage + moisture balance)
🪴 Pot: clear nursery pot to keep an eye on roots + moisture
💧Hydration: seaweed extract + GT CCS
🪜 Support: coco coir pole + plant velcro, then gentle petiole support with jute twine

Healthy plants aren’t always pretty plants—sometimes they just need the right setup.
