Called out when the BBQ wouldn’t light, I couldn’t get it to go even with new batteries in the igniter. Had to use matches or a lighter.
The problem was that someone had cooked the ignition like one of uncle Bobs snags.
Got a new one and the expensive BBQ was fixed for a pittance.
Now we are cooking with gas.
Call me if your bbq needs a fix.

Nice little veranda over the back door. Before the weather would come in and the dog had no where to go if it rained and no one was home.
Now there’s a roof and the back door can stay open without any water coming in.

The gate at the rental property had broken its hinge’s. The sea air has taken its toll on both the steel gate frame and the hinges. So the order of the day was make it safe and work.
A new pair of hinges and it’s fixed for now.

How’s this for opulence! Electric sliding gate.
This home owner found that if she parked in her driveway she couldn’t close the swinging gates, so she wanted a sliding gate. And for a little extra she went with a motor, 5 remote controls, including a keypad outside.

Been a few weeks since I posted. It’s been so busy with some of the strangest stuff. But this might be of interest. I was asked about a pair of gates that would always sag and drag across the drive. They were so heavy that the post would be pulled over. Then a friend offered me a pair of gates, steel frame pine pickets, less than half the weight of the other two.
They were about 500mm narrower than the gap but that meant I could put in a better post and brace it to the other one, this meant it would resist being pulled over.
With a fresh coat of paint it looks great and both sides open and close perfectly.

This is bound to divide the wood lovers.
Some like to let the hardwood cladding silver naturally, others like it looking like new.
I had never done a job quilt like this, and had not used this treatment before. Have to say I think it looks great and the timber looks so natural. It’s a mat finish oil that soaks in and protects from the inside.
If you have a timber facade or deck that needs a refresh give me a yell.

This lovely little deck is not high enough to have to have a rail. But it looks better for it and when you sit at the table it’s hard not to worry that you or someone else could fall off.
Now you can sit safely and not have to keep looking behind you to see if you’re close to the edge.

Had a couple of big days putting up a spa fence. Firstly had to turn the Spa to face the view. Then frameless glass in front and along the side. Across the back it was decided to use a budget friendly black aluminium pool fence.
Now it’s safe and looks great. Just needs water and plumbing, should be ready to go in time for a 9yo pool party in a weeks time.
