This gorgeous panel came together piece by piece, with hundreds of individual pieces of glass carefully cut, shaped, and fitted to create this colourful scene.
Having complete creative freedom to choose the colours, textures, and details was both incredibly exciting and, at times, a little nerve-wracking! 😅
I had the opportunity to bring several techniques into this piece, from sandblasting the glass to firing enamels and vitreous paints in the kiln. Each step added another layer of detail and character, bringing the koi fish and water lilies to life.
And then came that incredibly satisfying moment when all the pieces finally came together, and everything just worked.
But the best part of all? My client absolutely loved it!
I poured so much love into creating this piece, and I hope you love it just as much as I do.
