Tim Spicer Architects are committed to offering a considered architectural service, which provides inspiring design solutions that respond intelligently to any budget or brief in residential, hospitality and commercial projects. Working previously for both large commercial builders and residential architects, Tim found that design innovation was often unnecessarily overlooked when time and budget restraints were the main and often limiting focus. In response to this, he began his own practice. His practice focuses primarily on residential housing in coastal, rural and urban contexts. This has resulted in ambitious contemporary designs that push the boundaries of form and function within a residential framework. A truly bespoke approach nurtures the individual needs of the client. It responds to highly personalized briefs and provides an architectural style that reflects a passion for modern design, sustainability, materiality, technology and efficiency – the practice’s core values. The firm’s ability to create inspiring buildings on small budgets was recognised when Little Gore Street Studio won the Small Budget Projects category of the Australian Timber Design Awards 2012. The Brunswick based studio of Tim Spicer Architects regularly partners with individuals and practices on larger projects. Tim has enjoyed success in joint ventures with numerous designers from different disciplines and countries – including industrial designers, interior designers, furniture makers and artists – on a large variety of multi-disciplinary projects. The practice has developed close working relationships with trusted and talented builders, ensuring the best outcome possible for each project.
