Good architecture makes deliberate choices — in materials, proportion, restraint. The garden deserves the same rigour. We match stone, timber and planting to what's already been built, so the palette carries from facade to garden bed without a hard stop at the back door. Nothing competing — just continuity.

The aftermath of building or renovating a house can often mean that the outdoor space is now no longer connected to the house. All the thought went into the details of the house and the flow between rooms.

We understand your decision fatigue... let us hold your hand and create the dream garden to match the home.

Plant we're loving right now: Common everlasting (Chrysocephalum apiculatum).

A low, grey-leaved mat that carries small gold button flowers for most of the year and barely asks for a second thought. We use it at the front of a bed and on egdes of paving, where it spreads gently and keeps colour going through the gaps that other things leave bare.

Plant we're loving right now: Coast banksia (Banksia integrifolia).

Pale lemon flower spikes stand up through glossy, silver-backed leaves from autumn into spring, drawing honeyeaters and lorikeets when little else is out. One of the hardiest banksias going — it takes salt, wind and poor soil in its stride, and grows into a shapely, reliable tree that is a perfect feature tree.

Have you ever wondered what native animals live in your area?

Well the best way to find out is to build a garden that they cant resist! Selecting the right plants and layout is the first step to bringing the wildlife back to your garden.

Plant we're loving right now: Pincushion hakea (Hakea laurina).

Perfectly round flower heads in deep crimson and cream, held along the stems like a string of pins, right through the coldest months. Tough, fast-draining ground and an open, sunny spot are all it asks for — and it repays with one of the most striking flowers in the native palette, loved by honeyeaters as much as by us.

Its a problem we see all too often. People wanting to save money and do it themselves.

Without some direction, this is a very costly mistake. Plants in the wrong spot. Pavers laid without the proper preparation. Doing it a second time is expensive.

Do it right the first time, with a plan.

A corten fire bowl at the centre of a sunken circular gravel section, planting pressing in on every side. Built for long evenings.

The planting was designed to "hug" the space. Even though this block is in a residential setting, you feel completely in nature.

Plant we're loving right now: Water milfoil (Myriophyllum).

Soft, feathered whorls of bright green rise just clear of the water and carpet the surface below it — the plant that quietly does the work in a natural pond. It oxygenates the water, shades out algae, and gives frogs, dragonflies and small fish the cover they need. An indigenous milfoil is the backbone of any water garden we build.
