For the final day of National Reconciliation Week, we wanted to share a few snippets of what we got up to in the studio. This year marks 25 years of Reconciliation Australia and, for Hunt, our first year as a recognised member of the Reconciliation Action Plan network. Reconciliation is an ongoing journey, and we’re proud to be taking meaningful steps forward, together.

It is National Reconciliation Week and we’re all in.
 
Over the next 7 days, our studios will be taking part in activities centered around reflection, learning and conversation - exploring what reconciliation means within our practice and community.

As architects and designers, we know every place holds deep history, culture and connection. Reconciliation is ongoing work and extends far beyond a single week. National Reconciliation Week provides an opportunity to reflect on how we can continue to learn from, and respectfully engage with, the histories, cultures and knowledge systems that have shaped this land for tens of thousands of years.
 
This year marks a particularly meaningful milestone for our practice — one we look forward to sharing at the end of the week.

2024 has been another transformative year for Hunt Architects. To capture it all, we’ve distilled our biggest milestones into 10 slides that highlight the moments that made this year unforgettable.
In 2025, we’re looking forward to a year filled with exciting projects, from sports stadiums to government buildings, hospitals, workplaces and more. We’re also thrilled to be collaborating with Co-Architecture and EmAGN WA on upcoming events that support our industry. Internally, we’re focused on driving growth across all our national studios.
We’d like to take this moment to share a heartfelt thank you to our incredible clients, collaborators, partners, and our talented team. Here’s to 2024 and welcoming 2025.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, a passion for high-quality submissions, and a proven track record in managing bids and tenders. This role offers the chance to lead submissions across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects with our national marketing team.

 Requirements:
- Strong technical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign - - essential), and bid management tools
- Architecturally qualified or Construction Industry experience,
- Ability to ensure compliance with tender requirements and industry standards.

Last week, we moved into our new studio. Our Perth studio is now located at Level 3, 242 Murray Street, Perth WA 6000, within the iconic Commonwealth Bank building. After being in West Perth for over 50 years, the team are settling in nicely and are excited for our new C*D location. Over the past few months, we have dedicated the time and energy into creating a space that supports our collaborative style and reflects the Hunt brand – a dynamic environment that our team can take pride in. A big thank you to Prime Private and our delivery partners Centuria, Plexus Engineers and for bringing our vision to life.

We’re very proud of our new space and cannot wait to share it with our valued partners and collaborators.

We’re excited to announce our sponsorship of EmAGN’s upcoming event. Recognised by the Australian Institute of Architects, the “Archi-Peers: Speed Mentor” event will be held on July 25th at Living Edge in Perth. In ten-minute one-on-one sessions, mentors and mentees can engage in focused discussions, exchange insights, and build valuable connections.

 

Two members of our leadership team, Mark Young and Amy Jordan, will participate as speed mentors. Mark, our Director and Managing Principal, brings 30 years of industry knowledge, while Amy, one of our Principals, offers 17 years of experience. They will guide recent graduates, experienced architects, and those planning to register.

 

We look forward to working with the other mentors and seeing everyone there. It should be a great night.

With The Exchange Hotel’s construction in full swing, we wanted to share some moments on site. Architects don’t often show the messiness of construction but seeing the next chapter of the Exchange Hotel unfold in real-time has been captivating.

Given its incredible history, this project holds immense importance to the community and Hunt Architects – project opportunities like this don’t come by every day. It’s been incredible to watch this old building come to life again with our team visiting site weekly to ensure every detail is captured with precision and care.

Special thanks to Michael Conroy from Silvertone Photography for beautifully capturing the transformation of this landmark. As well as Devlyn Construction and the Shire of Murray for our ongoing collaborations. We look forward to its grand opening in August 2024.

MELBOURNE STUDIO 🚀 We are excited to announce that Melbourne will be joining our established studios in Perth and Sydney. This expansion has been a long time in the making and is reflective of our ambition to better serve our clients across the eastern states of Australia. Historically, Hunt Architects have managed our Melbourne projects out of our Sydney studio. While this approach has served us well, today, we are delighted to be on the ground in Melbourne - ready to deliver exceptional architectural, master planning and interior solutions.
 
Introducing our Melbourne Studio Principal – Will Lakin.
With over 30 years of experience, Will’s leadership will be instrumental in spearheading the Victoria expansion with the launch of our Melbourne studio. As an accomplished architect and master planner, Will has an impressive global footprint with award-wining works spanning across the UK, China, and Australia.
