🌸 Friday Focus Flower – A Special Anniversary Edition! ❤️

This week, we're doing something a little different!

Last week, I had the pleasure of creating a very special bouquet, commissioned by a thoughtful husband as a surprise for his wife on their first wedding anniversary. 💕

Using a photograph of her original wedding bouquet as inspiration, I carefully handcrafted a paper recreation, capturing its beautiful colours, distinctive flowers and intricate details.

I absolutely loved bringing this meaningful idea to life, knowing that the finished bouquet would become a lasting keepsake of such a special day. 💐

Friday Focus Flower - Waratah ❤️

This week's Friday Focus Flower is the stunning Waratah! 🌿

Known for its striking red blooms, the Waratah is often associated with strength, courage and resilience, making it a beautiful symbol of determination and beauty. ❤️

This is one of my more intricate paper flowers to create, with each individual petal carefully cut, shaped and layered by hand to bring this spectacular bloom to life. ✂️🌿

And the best part? This Waratah will stay in bloom all year round! 🌺

Friday Focus Flower - Flannel Flower 🌿

Soft, delicate and unmistakably Australian, this week's Friday Focus Flower is the beautiful Flannel Flower 🤍

Its name comes from the soft, felt-like texture of its petals and leaves. Despite its delicate appearance, it thrives in tough conditions and is often associated with resilience, strength and gentleness.

I love the contrast between the creamy-white petals and that gorgeous green centre. Each flower is individually handmade from paper, so no two are exactly alike. ✂️🌿

Friday Focus Flower – Pincushion Protea 🌿

This week’s feature flower is the striking Pincushion Protea. With its bold shape, beautiful texture and delicate pin-like stamens, it’s a flower that really stands out.

Native to South Africa, pincushion proteas come in a range of gorgeous colours, including yellow, orange, red and pink. They’re known for their unusual appearance and are often associated with strength, transformation and courage.

My paper version is carefully handmade to capture all of those intricate layers and fine details — and of course, it will last much longer than the real thing! 💐

Friday Focus Flower 💛 - Yellow Banksia

This week's Friday Focus Flower is the beautiful Yellow Banksia 🌿

With its soft golden colour, distinctive cylindrical flower spike and wonderfully textured appearance, the Banksia is one of Australia's most recognisable native flowers. It's often associated with resilience, rebirth, and enduring strength.

One of my favourite things about creating Australian natives in paper is trying to capture all the little details that make each flower so unique. 💐💛

Friday Focus Flower 🌿 - Kangaroo Paw

This week’s flower has definitely been one of my biggest challenges yet!

Kangaroo Paws are such unique Australian natives, with their unusual shape and distinctive velvety, almost furry appearance. Recreating that texture in paper has certainly been tricky!

While my paper version may not have quite mastered its furry coat, I’m really happy with how the shape, colours and tiny flower details have come together.

Like all my paper flowers, they continue to evolve with each recreation. Every time I make one, I learn a little more about its natural form and refine my technique along the way.

That’s all part of the challenge of recreating nature in paper — some flowers just make me work a little harder than others! 🌿❤️

Friday Focus Flower 🌸 - Grevillea

With its distinctive curled petals and fine, delicate details, the Grevillea flower is the focus for this Friday.

Found in a beautiful range of colours, from reds, pinks and oranges to yellows, creams, whites, greens and browns, Grevilleas also appear in striking multi-coloured combinations. Their unique form adds wonderful texture and character to native arrangements. 💐

Grevilleas are often seen as symbols of strength, resilience and individuality — a fitting meaning for a flower that is both hardy and uniquely beautiful.

Our paper Grevilleas are individually handcrafted to capture their unusual shape and intricate details, creating a lasting version of this much-loved Australian bloom.

Friday Focus Flower 🌿– Gum Flowers

This week the focus is on the beautiful Gum Flower – one of Australia's most distinctive native blooms.

With its delicate, fluffy stamens and vibrant colours, the gum flower is a true celebration of the Australian landscape. They symbolise resilience, survival and deep connection to the land.

I love recreating these unique blooms by hand, carefully shaping every petal and stamen from paper to capture the intricate texture and character that makes gum flowers so special. Friday Focus Flower 🌿- Leucadendron

This weeks Friday Focus Flower is the beautiful Leucadendron.

One of the things I love most about them is their amazing variety of colours, from fresh greens and soft pinks to rich burgundy and deep reds. Their layered foliage and unusual flower heads add beautiful colour, texture and interest to any bouquet.

Each of my paper Leucadendrons is individually handmade, with every leaf shaped and layered by hand.
Best of all, these beauties will keep their colour for years to come. 🌿
