Every line on this project points to the water.
This canal-front home in Pelican Waters had a dated patio and an old outdoor kitchen that didn’t make the most of the block. We stripped it back and started again with one goal: make the view the centre of everything.
A custom concrete pool by Concept Pools now sits in front of the patio, raised above a terraced garden so you look straight out to the canal. Frameless glass fencing keeps it safe without getting in the way, and porcelain tiles carry you from the patio to the pool edge in one clean line.
Overhead, a new DanPal roof sits on an open white gable. It frames the view from inside, lets soft light through and keeps the heat out, so the space works right through a Sunshine Coast summer. A large fan and LED lighting take care of warm evenings.
To one side, a new outdoor kitchen with a sink and built-in BBQ keeps everything within reach. On the other, new Trex composite decking, laid on a fully rebuilt subframe, gives you a spot to lie back by the pool. Below, new retaining walls step the garden down to the canal, finished with low-maintenance planting.
The result is a backyard that finally makes the most of where it sits.
Design It. Build It. Live It.
