Great day yesterday at Yarpa’s Meet the Buyer event. Good to connect with people, have some valuable conversations and explore opportunities for Yarraan Environmental.

Thanks to the Yarpa team for putting it together.

Had an interesting situation recently while working on an AIA.

I completed my initial assessment and made a recommendation based on my professional judgement. Looking back, I had it right the first time.

After considering the client’s information and requirements, I changed my recommendation.

Then council came back questioning why I’d made that recommendation, particularly given the high significance of the trees involved.

Fair enough. When you’re dealing with trees of high significance, the reasoning behind your recommendations needs to stack up.

But it also made me reflect on the process. I’d already done the assessment, considered the site and reached a conclusion based on my knowledge and experience.

Somewhere along the way, I’d moved away from that initial position.

It’s a good reminder that while we need to listen to our clients, consider their objectives and work through council’s requirements, we also need to trust our own professional judgement.

At the end of the day, we’re engaged to provide independent arboricultural advice, and our recommendations need to be based on the assessment and the evidence.

Sometimes the biggest lesson is realising you had it right from the start.

Always learning. 🌳

Spent the last 9 days getting some R&R with the wife, first Bali then a cruise from Sydney

Great to switch of and unwind, but most importantly creating the life that has been dreamed of for some time

Plenty of hardworking in front of me... but keen to sink my teeth into it

work hard to cap off the year now...

Big things happening behind the scenes at Yarraan Environmental 👀🌳

Been working on something pretty significant over the past little while, and I’m looking forward to being able to share more soon.

A big step forward for the business and an exciting next chapter.

Stay tuned… 🤫

Short week done and Friday arvo is here.

Been a busy few days getting around site and getting a few things sorted.

Now time to switch off for a bit — heading to Bali next week for a few days.

Have a good weekend everyone 🤙
