BACKYARD TRANSFORMATION
It’s Friday, Spring is here, it’s time for a dip! Little concept design we’ve been developing for one of our homes in Sydney’s East. Client’s request was to have a pool in the backyard, connected to the house. With a dramatic existing slope to work with, the last thing they wanted was the pool at the very top of the site, disconnected from the house and inevitably… forgotten. So we used the terraced site to our advantage, minimizing excavation usually required to build a pool. We gave new life to old planters and stairs, and this is where we landed - a party plunge pool, visible from the living area so kids can play safely, easily accessible and playfully connected to the entertaining areas. Summer couldn’t come any sooner!

PROGRESS SHOTS: Our proposal to give new life to this 2 storey home in North Bondi. Much of the existing building was able to be salvaged. The idea was to reinvent the facade in a cost effective way that was easy to maintain. Other works included a small addition to the rear, internal reconfiguration, pool and new double garage. Construction started late last year, and the project is scheduled for completion this month. Photos of the completed build coming soon!
