Plant-parenting can sometimes take a bit of work. It’s normal to be fearful of getting plants because getting a potter and extra soil to follow up can be tiring and time-consuming. One also may not have access to good soil sometimes. We have all of it in one place for you just one click away. Order potted plants, gardening soil, potting mix, fertilizer, and other gardening tools right from the comfort of your home.

Don't worry. We know that carrying all the plants home can be a tough job. So, we take the hustle of driving the well-potted and soiled plants -- through the traffic -- at your doorsteps.

I co-founded Plant Easy with my mother to make her realize that life only begins after retirement. It was never “just another hobby” we were pursuing. She has been the most brilliant teacher I ever had the privilege of learning from, just like her students at Shishu Kallyan Primary School. The impact she had in her students’ lives beyond the classroom is a story I am saving for another day.

She was also my motivation to start PEAK which is a fully youth-led platform where we talk and take actions to empower the elderly: an idea that I built with the knowledge I “Gather”ed (wink wink) from Goldin Institute. They introduced the idea of ABCD to me which made me focus on what is strong rather than what is wrong.

To make a neglected demographic feel included without tokenism, we need actions in our society: PEAK is thinking just about that.

With my mother’s ever loved plants from Plant Easy and PEAK's action vision for an age-defying world for our parents, I invite you to “GROW SOMETHING TOGETHER.” 🌱

Concept:

We live in a world that hurries us with deadlines, targets, the next milestone. Somewhere in that rush, the people who raised us start quietly getting older while we get busy chasing the version of "success" the society has handed us.

Let’s pause for a few hours.

Plant Easy x PEAK is coming together to bring you a Parent & Daughter/ Son/ Grandchildren Planting Workshop — not a class where you sit and listen, but a hands-on session where you and your loved ones plant something together. Same soil, same pot, same quiet moment of doing something slow with your hands instead of your phone.

This isn't about becoming a master gardener. It's about what happens in the space between the planting — the conversations that come up when your hands are busy and your guard is down.
A bit of context: Plant Easy has always been about making planting simple and personal. PEAK grew out of a fellowship at Golden Global Institute, where community development became the core of what I wanted to build — knowledge that actually reaches people, not just sits in a report. This workshop is where both ideas meet: growing plants, and growing closer to the people who matter as they become older, wiser, more accepting and adaptive to change by challenging norms set for aging.

Few things I am going to be following which is usually a concern at any event:

- Time and Place: The workshop will take place in the first week of August at Banani. Please let me know your suggestion for a wholesome community space. I have a few in mind, but let’s hear you out.
- Theme: Gilmore Girls 🍂
- Food: “Coffee, coffee, coffee! Coffee in an IV,” and Hors d'oeuvre from a local female entrepreneur/ Sookie
- Each pair will be leaving with 10 potted plants home. If carrying them is an issue, we will deliver it the same day.
- We will only host 8 to 10 pairs (16 to 20) people in the workshop.

Other specifics depend on your preferences. So in the comments, let’s engage to curate the workshop that makes your experience worthwhile.

ORGANIC MULBERRY JAM in the house 🍀

My mother has picked over 100 KGs of organically grown Mulberries following the permaculture, protecting every living organism in the garden. We shared most of the harvest with the farmers' community of the land we share. The smiles of kids are priceless when we allow them to pick the fruits. Even after sharing, we sold around 50 KGs of fruits. Most of our customers came back for another round.

Now, my mother is turning the remaining harvest into jam made with the fruit, lemons (which are also from our plants), sugar, and agar-agar. Before I finish all these mason jars by myself, order away.

We can only take 20 orders of this jam. It is packed in recycled mason jars that I cleaned and then boiled in a water bath for 10 minutes before pouring the jam inside. I will use no stickers or unnecessary gimmicky packaging methods. However, I am using bubble wrap cause I could not find a safer alternative that is environmentally friendly.

How to have it:

After opening the jar, you should use a fresh and dry spoon to scoop out some jam. Refrigerate it for up to a month after opening the lid. Spread it on your bread. Add it to your frozen yogurt or vanilla ice cream. My favourite way is to have it on its own 😁
