There have been moments in my life when tawakkul—placing my trust in Allah—was the only thing that kept me going. I have endured trials that challenged my perspective, tested my patience, and left me searching for answers. Yet, I began to find peace when I learned to surrender what was beyond my control to Allah.
Tawakkul has taught me that trusting Allah does not mean abandoning effort. It means doing my best, making sincere dua, and pursuing what I hope for while accepting that the outcome ultimately rests with Him. Sometimes, life unfolds in ways more beautiful than I imagined. Other times, my prayers are answered differently than I had hoped. Through it all, I am learning that an unanswered prayer is not necessarily a denied blessing, nor is a delayed outcome without purpose.
Of course, tawakkul does not make life free of hardship. There are still days when uncertainty overwhelms me, when I overthink the future, and when my heart struggles to find peace. I am still learning to trust Allah more deeply. But whenever I feel lost in the weight of what I cannot control, I remind myself to return to Him.
“Hasbunallahu wa ni‘mal wakeel.”
Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
These words have become a source of comfort whenever life feels too heavy to comprehend. They remind me that I can strive wholeheartedly without carrying the burden of predicting every outcome. I can make plans without assuming I know what is best, and I can hope without allowing uncertainty to consume me.
Perhaps this is one of the greatest lessons tawakkul continues to teach me: I do not need to know what tomorrow holds to trust the One who holds it. I only need to take the next step with faith, patience, and the certainty that Allah’s wisdom extends far beyond my understanding.
