Veranda, Muskoka

Veranda is a home decor and furniture store in the beautiful Muskoka town of Bracebridge. I look forward to seeing you at the new store!

More than a decade ago, in the Muskoka town of Huntsville, I began a small store called Veranda to offer a variety of items I’d selected to enhance the appearance of peoples’ homes, indoors and out. Customers told me they liked my Collection because it was not what they could find anywhere else, so I opened up again in Bracebridge in 2014 in the former Odd Fellow's Hall. I have been preserving the space and heritage of the 1904 building, and you have to come see the upstairs, beautifully restored and now called "The Lodge". You can also book an appointment with us for fabric selection for custom window treatments or cushions, interior design work and consultation, and much more.

Calming sounds inside the store, decorating for the Christmas Open House listening to relaxing music, as we patiently wait for the silent soft and slow snowflakes descend upon the fields and woodlands to mark the Christmas season.

I am delighted to invite all of you to our Annual VERANDA Interiors Christmas Open House on Saturday November 7, 2026 from 10 to 5:30.

The showrooms will be filled with beautiful and artful holiday centrepieces, garlands, wreaths, spectacular themed Christmas trees. Santas, gnomes, cushions, tableware and serveware will abound in a variety of styles and colours for the festivities. The result is warm and inviting; we can’t wait to greet you on Saturday November 7 at our Christmas Open House.

I will be preparing homemade appetizers and desserts to share with you and will be serving a favourite beverage. Sarah Spring will delight us with classical Christmas melodies at the piano.

We'll be providing storewide specials on this day; our gift to you.

A great occasion for us to dress up, share some cheer and the magic of the season with all of you.

Create a home that encourages calm and comfort with natural materials and layers of texture. A home that combines refined lines and modern classics for an elegance that is approachable and livable is very pleasing. The design approach to a casual refined, and luxurious home incorporates a neutral palette with an emphasis on the use of curves, texture and natural materials is infinitely adaptable to many lifestyles. Texture is comforting and suggests ease and relaxation. Curves are one hallmark of modern casual style. Lighting is like a sculpture that is illuminated on demand, find a fixture to modernize and stylize your space. Landscape and abstract art can support the serene environment of your views of the great outdoors instead of stealing the show. There is elegance in imperfect natural materials in wood or stone.

At VERANDA Interiors, you will find inspiration in our showrooms for how to design and decorate your home in a way that’s perfectly comfortable and calm for you and your family in a modern casual style.

Shop the many collections at our spacious new store 505 Highway 118 West in Bracebridge. You will find inspiration in our creative new lighting fixtures, pleasing cabinets, curved swivel chairs, plush sofas, beautiful art, and so much more. My approach to choosing beautiful new pieces for the store is always linked to my strong connection to the outdoors, with the palettes drawing from the surrounding landscape.

Hope to see you soon this Friday or Saturday, the final two days of our big fall sale, where you can pick up a last-minute hostess gift, or even better, a new furniture item for your home. We have everything you may need to accessorize your Thanksgiving holiday from start to finish.

The Group of Seven transformed how the world sees the Canadian wilderness, and nowhere can you experience their legacy more powerfully than by standing where these artists once stood, surrounded by the very landscapes they immortalized on canvas. Between 1920 and 1933, this collective of visionary painters ventured deep into Ontario’s rugged backcountry, capturing the raw beauty of ancient rock, windswept pines, and vast northern skies in a bold new style that would define Canadian art for generations.

What makes their work so significant? The Group of Seven rejected European academic traditions to create something entirely new: a distinctly Canadian visual language that celebrated the untamed wilderness rather than domesticated pastoral scenes. Their vibrant colours, dramatic compositions, and expressive brushwork captured the essence of a young nation searching for its own identity. Artists like Tom Thomson, Lawren Harris, and A.Y. Jackson didn’t just paint pretty pictures. They created a national mythology, transforming the Canadian Shield from an economic obstacle into a source of cultural pride.

Early members consisted of Franklin Carmichael , Lawren Harris, A. Y. Jackson, Frank Johnston, Arthur Lismer, J. E. H. MacDonald, Frederick Varley, and A. J. Casson.

Two artists associated with the group are Tom Thomson and Emily Carr. Thomson had a significant influence on the group. In his essay "The Story of the Group of Seven", Lawren Harris wrote that Thomson was "a part of the movement before we pinned a label on it.

This week we received a formidable amount of the wonderful, beautiful landscape giclee print canvas art from members of the Group of Seven. As soon as they were lifted onto our walls, an ambiance of warmth emanated from the stunning Canadian landscape images.

We have 18 of the most beautiful giclee canvases now available to purchase and
ready to hang in two sizes in stock.
