Before you sign off a repaint, check these four details.

BEFORE THE FINISH • A homeowner’s walkthrough checklist

• Lines where walls meet ceilings and trim.
• Coverage across each wall.
• Areas that needed repairs.
• Details around windows and doors.

Review the agreed work once it is complete, under the room’s normal lighting. If a spot looks uneven, ask for it to be assessed before assuming another coat is the answer.
