Bleujyowa Quality home grown plants in small quantities propagated in our own Carlyon Bay garden. We focus on

These are lovely plants carefully propagated and grown in our garden in Carlyon Bay near St Austell in Cornwall. Quantities are small because we grow them in our spare time and so we may run out. We started propagating plants we like because passers by were commenting on our garden and what we grow and asking for plants. We are aiming to grow a mixture of annuals, perennials and shrubs attractive for each season some of which may be tender. Most will be for sale in small sized pots because we have limited space. Let us know what you would like and we are happy for you to collect or keep an eye on our roadside stand at the front of our garden. We are always pleased to offer advice about what we may have available.

Thank you to Cornwall Wildlife Trust for arranging our Island Life tour this morning. Fascinating tour of the Island which we have never visited before despite living in Cornwall for over thirty years!

Lichens have their own beauty and we often take them for granted.

Yesterday we attended a Workshop to learn all about them and how to identify them. We were at St Laudas Church, a beautiful medieval church and the graveyard was full of Lichens of varied kinds…

The workshop was organised by the Environmental Records Centre which is part of Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

We really enjoyed our visit to Breney Commonn with Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

We wandered a short way and recorded everything we saw. Some had more knowledge than others in particular areas and so we were able to share knowledge and expertise.

We spotted Royal Fern, Hard Fern & Lady Fern as well as other ferns. We identified large coneheads and ground hoppers as well as some interesting butterflies. There were dragonflies around too. We saw heathers and scabious too. We also spotted a green woodpecker on our return walk.

Some amazing Lego built sculptures around the gardens. I really do think that sculptures of this kind add interest and compliment the plantings well. They are fun too!

We enjoyed a few hours here whilst travelling home. The House dates back nearly 500 years with alterations being made over the centuries. The gardens around the House are divided into rooms with some lovely plantings. There are views over the South Downs too.
