Nox Excavating is proud to be introducing a new youth program for the Sooke community.
The idea came from having a local high school student join us on site for the day. We had the opportunity to teach him proper construction safety, jobsite awareness, basic skills, the importance of respect and responsibility, and give him a real look at what working in the trades is all about.
Most importantly, we made sure he felt valued, included, and well paid for his work.
That experience got us thinking bigger.
Our goal with the Nox Youth Trades Program is to give local youth the opportunity to gain real jobsite experience, learn practical skills, earn good money, build confidence, and have something productive to work toward.
For those who show up, work hard, take safety seriously, and continue to develop, our long-term goal is to create a pathway toward further training and potentially an apprenticeship in Heavy Equipment Operation.
The trades have given many people the opportunity to build a career, support their families, and create something for themselves. We believe the next generation deserves that same opportunity.
This program will be built around safety, mentorship, accountability, respect, and real-world experience.
As a locally owned Sooke business, Nox Excavating wants to do more than simply work in this community — we want to invest in it.
We’re excited to see where this grows.
