Well, it's been an amazing 17 years but the time has come to announce my retirement and the retirement of Women at Work, Creative Painting & Decorating.
It has been my great joy to have met so many wonderful people, people who became close friends. I loved the faces of the children when they saw their newly painted rooms for the first time; from murals in the nursery, Harry Potter themed rooms, chalkboard cities, fun and exciting colours, I will never forget the surprise and giggles these kids shared with me.
And adults too! Colour planning, refreshing tired cupboards, faux marble on pillars, venetian plaster features, grown up chalkboard walls, while you might not have giggled you certainly expressed your pleasure at the changes we were able to make to your homes and paid us the greatest compliment by referring us to your friends.
Our painting has taken us from Lion's Bay to Harrison Hot Springs, from Maui to the Shushwap to a couple of Gulf Islands - and everywhere in-between. You know when you get excited every time you open a can of paint or feel the rewards of yet another satisfied client, you're living your passion and are in the right line of work.
My thanks to my staff over the years: Marla who started this venture with me, Tyrina, Rachel, Kirsten, Sandra, Vanessa, Kathy, Linda, two Nicole's, Jessica, and from time to time my brother Lyle. Your trust in our abilities has been both personally and professionally rewarding.
While Women at Work was unique in its scope of talent I am pleased to be able to recommend a good friend of mine, Richard Graham with Lions Gate Painting who would be happy to provide you with a quote for interior and exterior painting. His number is 604-603-7187.
I'm heading off on a new adventure! My husband and I have opened a food truck business, Taters - The Baked Potato Co. serving hot & fresh baked potatoes with delicious toppings. Check out our website, www.tatersbakedpotato.com and our page, TatersPotatoes. We hope to see you at one of the many venues we attend throughout the year.
In the words of our new business,
Sea Ya Later Tater !
