And while we’re sharing news… Periwinkle Designs is becoming 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 | 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀!

I’ll be rolling out the new branding over the next little while, so things will start looking a bit different around here.

We all have one.

The pile of things we’re definitely going to put on Marketplace. Soon. Obviously. 🫠

I spent my daughter’s nap time today sorting, researching, grouping, photographing and listing these for a client.

If something’s worth selling, I’ll list it. If consignment makes more sense, I’ll do that. And if it’s better donated, I’m happy to find it a good home.

Because “I should deal with that” has a funny way of becoming “why is this still in my house six months later?”

AI can generate a perfect room. It doesn’t know your cat has already claimed the best sunbeam in the house. 🐈‍⬛

I use AI for inspiration, research, organizing my notes and pulling together everything I learn from my clients.

But I’m constantly questioning it, changing things and adding the details it can’t know.

Because those little details are usually where the best ideas come from.

AI is a great tool. Getting to know you is still the best part.

I love hearing someone talk about their life. It’s usually where the ideas start for me.

The places they’ve travelled, the art they love, what they wear, the work they do, even the way they describe how they want to feel at home … I pick up on all of it.

This room started almost completely empty, but after getting to know my client, I knew where to take it.

We took our time, let the room breathe, and waited for the right pieces rather than filling it just to finish it.

A home should feel like the person who lives there.

I’m not against buying new. I’m against buying just to fill a space.

This client already had a quality dresser. Instead of replacing it, we borrowed inspiration from an unlikely place … a fireplace. 〰️✨

That’s still how my brain works: keep the good stuff, rethink what has potential, and spend where it matters.

Three hours. One closet. A whole lot lighter.

Two bags of clothes donated, one bag of garbage gone, and we didn’t buy a single organizing bin. We just worked with what Tracey already had and made her closet work better for her.

No judgment. No perfect pantries. Just hands-on help tackling the space you’ve been putting off.

And the lovebird + baby deer were a pretty great bonus.

Getting started is usually the hardest part. We might not finish everything in 3 hours, but we can make some serious progress.

There’s an old saying in print advertising: white space sells. Don’t fill it with words just because the space is there.

Your eyes rest on the clear space and are drawn to the good stuff. The message is clearer with less.

I think the same goes for our homes. Give your favourites some room to stand out.

Shop your house first. Spend on what matters. And wait for the treasure.
