I do love asters! What a bonus that they are keystone species as well. Smooth Aster and Heath Aster have become new favourites.

Extension of the native plant garden is coming along. There are 26 species growing in the middle section. I've added about 12 feet onto one end and another 8 feet onto the other end. Planted 8 more species in the new section by the road. Still figuring out what the plant in the 8 foot section.

More soil to move and more branches to cut. But it's coming along....

September is the perfect month for planting - temperatures are still good for roots to establish, we have enough rain to keep plants happy, no extreme temperatures or drought, much more pleasant weather for being outside then the hear and humidity of summer.
