Autumn is the season of exploring homes that make people want to stay a little longer 🏡
As the days grow shorter, natural stone, warm wood, soft light, and inviting outdoor spaces become even more inspiring. And when it comes to residential design, few things are more tempting than a home that feels a part of its surroundings. We selected three award-winning private houses that take the top of our inspiration list. All three received recognition in the Architectural Design, Private House category at the last year’s LIV Hospitality Design Awards. What unites them is a shared connection to place, natural materials, and the experience of living in harmony with the landscape.
✔️ Manta Coastal Residence by ALTER EGO Project Group is located on the Spanish coastline, where the striking residence takes inspiration from the graceful shape of a manta ray. Sweeping rooflines, generous overhangs, and sun-filled interiors frame the coastal views.
✔️ Reef House by YODEZEEN sits in Coral Gables, Florida, with a custom-built pier connecting it to Biscayne Bay. Mediterranean Revival architecture, warm stone, light-coloured facades, and tropical planting create a home that respects local architectural traditions while seamlessly blending into its coastal setting.
✔️ Casa de al Lado by Chain + Siman is located in Rancho Avándaro, Mexico, and brings the surrounding landscape into everyday life. Massive trees, large windows, an old irrigation channel, and gardens planted with olive trees and ferns shape the design. Carved stone exteriors and exposed timber details add character to the interiors.
