WORK IN PROGRESS

Testing the sinus-conical wall: a 1:1 mockup of the defining feature of Cantine Zinder 2.0.

Beyond its sculptural, undulating form, this wall is a highly functional structural element. Its sinusoidal geometry acts like a series of continuous arches, significantly increasing rigidity and self-stability compared to a flat wall of the same thickness. This allows for thinner sections and a substantial reduction in material and cement use, without compromising structural performance, a direct result of ACTA’s constant search for more efficient, sustainable construction solutions.

A heartfelt thank you to our workers in Niger, whose care and craftsmanship bring every curve of this project to life.

A NEW CHAPTER, A NEW RESPONSE

Building on the success of Cantine Zinder, ACTA presents Cantine Zinder 2.0: a multifunctional space combining kitchen, storage and canteen facilities, developed with CISP and GIZ in Zinder, Niger.

Born from the same needs that shaped our first Cantine Zinder project, this new space responds to the evolving demands of the rural Zinder community. Its sinus-conical wall optimizes material use, reducing cement consumption while enhancing structural performance.
