One piece, one story.
The things I choose are never random. Each one has a maker, and a reason, and a story worth telling.
This one begins on an island in Maine, with a boy building boats beside his father.
Asa Pingree shaped hulls with his hands long before he made furniture, and you can see it in this curve, the way it dips and rises like a wave.
Years later, with Marie Garnier, his partner in life and in work, he designed the Eclipse collection for Petite Friture.
A daybed that cradles you like a hammock and sits in a room like sculpture.
These are the things I look for.
The ones that carry the story of whoever made them.
They give a whole room something to say.
