Allotment Site in the FY4 area of Blackpool

25/10/2026

Morning.

Just had a wonder round the site and there appears to be a fair amount of damage, might be worth getting down when you can and checking your plot.
Take care out there, the streets also have bins blowing around the streets.

OK peeps, had a little wonder before and I am afraid there is some storm damage on several plots.

Sadly leaves have been blown off trees on your plots!

Hopefully this will now affect next years growth.

Stay safe people.

It is a heavy heart I heard today a long standing member has sadly passed away.

Over the decades the site was in his heart, he dedicated so much time to both his plot and the site. True gentleman.

RIP Roy

Well it's that time of the year when the tomatoes are ready for picking and making passata for the coming year ahead.

Rio Grande, San Marzano and Amish Paste.

And the result....

Fun morning wondering around Cherry Tree allotments on their open day.

Nice to meet a fellow BlueSky person I have been chatting to for a good while.

Some really good plots, few wild ones, some interesting sheds including one being built and has scaffolding up it it was that high!

However, by a country mile this was my favourite.

Dehydrator is in full on mode now.

1st batch ever of homegrown, homemade PuNkY Prunes.

Couple of tenants did the taste earlier and I got the nod, lovely.

Tiz the drying season..... hurrah!

First batch of PuNky Paprika made.
Prunes in the dehydrator in production.

"So Gemini what are the chances of rain in Blackpool in the next 3 weeks"?

Her reply.....

A big big thank you to both Heather and Sam.
They worked hard cleaning the on site toilet, it is stunning.
So let's all keep it that way.
