Tried my hand at patchwork and made a quilt for one of my best friends, as a gift for her special birthday 🥰

So pleased she likes it and it’s already in situ 😊

I wanted a beaded curtain for the studio doorway to stop the bees and wasps coming in.
Couldn’t find one I liked at a price I was willing to pay so..famous last words “I’ll make one”

I’ll admit there wasn’t much went into the planning other than I wanted it to be X wide and X long with a tube header to poke the swinging rail into (need it to swing out the way to close the door)

According to my Temu history there are over 33000 beads here!!…


Although I’ve worked out what I’d do differently, I am never doing this again!!!

After a trip to the Quilting and sewing show at The Royal Welsh show ground in Builth last weekend, I’ve inevitably been bitten by the quilting bug!

I was veering towards making a quilt to top the bed with, after playing with patchwork for my sofa last year.

I’m going to make a sampler quilt of my own design -having never done this, I want to experiment with different patterns, there’s no way I can decide on one!!
I’m still rifling through my stash to see what else I have, but I’m liking what’s going on so far! 😊

While awaiting tools to complete another project I decided to play with the bag of leather offcuts under my table!
By no means perfect (even my industrial machine wasn’t keen on the leather!) but it’s only for me! 😊
