Controller in hand, the match is only half over, and the big overhead light has not been switched on all evening. It has not needed to be.
That's the honest test of any gaming room. Late in the evening, mid session, main light off. The day it's first set up tells you very little.
Run strips at several heights: along the ceiling, under the shelves, behind the desk and along the skirting. The glow comes from all around the room, so there's no single hard point of light overhead. β¨
Choose a warm white tone and the screen stays the brightest thing in the room without being the only light in it. The space around it still feels lived in, like a proper evening in with the kit switched on.
Light the room for the session and you're never reaching for the wall switch halfway through a match. π‘
Picture your own setup at that hour. Which height would you light first? Tell us below.
