We stock over 60 brands, and each and every one is there because we believe in it - the quality is real, the design is considered, and the piece will still look right in twenty years.

Iconic mid-century furniture, lighting and accessory designer George Nelson ticks every box.

We’ve got a range of lighting from George’s range in store at The Flint, and you can view everything online. If you visit us in person, we can talk you through the designs and help you picture how they’ll look in your home before you decide.

The majority of these pieces are made to order, so it makes sense to talk to a team that’s been working with them for years and knows them inside and out.

When you arrive at The Flint, look up, and you’ll spot something you don’t often see on shopfronts these days.

Our sign was hand-painted by Liverpool signwriter Harry Mytton. Harry works the traditional way, with a brush and mahl stick, and lovingly painted every letter one stroke at a time.

Having a local artist hand-paint our sign just made sense, because Utility has been independently owned and run in Liverpool since 1999.

Backing local businesses matters, and not only to the people running them. It means work stays in our city, and traditional skills like signwriting continue.

So, next time you’re in the Baltic Triangle, take a moment to look at the lettering, then pop in and have a look around and see what else catches your eye.

We’ve matched pieces from The Flint with Pantone’s best shades for the season if you need to inject a little bit of autumn into your home without changing everything up.

A cosy blanket for the sofa for the dark evenings and a mug for a cuppa on cold mornings is a great place to start.

The big light can stay off.

As the evenings draw in, lighting starts to do a lot more than help you see what you’re doing. A table lamp can make a corner feel cosier, a pendant can completely change a dining space, and sometimes all it takes is one new light to make a room feel different.

We’ve got everything from sculptural statement pieces to smaller lamps made for darker evenings, all waiting at The Flint.
