At MLD Property Maintenance & Construction, we believe that being part of a community means more than just providing a service. It also means recognising the challenges people face behind closed doors.
Today, we want to highlight an issue that deserves greater awareness: men experiencing domestic abuse and fathers struggling with the emotional impact of family separation and difficulties maintaining relationships with their children.
Behind closed doors, some men are dealing with emotional manipulation, psychological abuse, isolation and the heartbreak of feeling disconnected from their children.
Too often, men can feel that their experiences will not be taken seriously or that speaking out will be seen as a sign of weakness.
But being a man does not mean being immune to abuse, and asking for help is not a weakness.
Domestic abuse can affect anyone, regardless of gender. Every victim deserves to be heard, supported and treated with dignity.
This isn’t about creating division between men and women. It’s about encouraging understanding, challenging stigma and making sure that nobody feels their suffering is invisible.
We also believe that children’s welfare must remain at the heart of family disputes, and that every situation deserves to be considered fairly and carefully.
💭 Our question to you is this:
Are we doing enough as a society to recognise domestic abuse against men and support fathers who are struggling emotionally?
We welcome respectful discussion, shared experiences and ideas about how we can improve awareness and support for those affected.
Sometimes, simply listening can make a difference.
Let’s start a conversation that matters.
