Don’t bin it, refresh it!

There’s something rather satisfying about taking something you already have and giving it a completely new look for a new season.

I originally made this wreath using dried flowers a few years ago, and although it’s dried beautifully, it had lost a little of its volume. Rather than starting again, I decided to give it a little autumn refresh.

I added a mix of dried hydrangeas, including some gorgeous Lady Annabelles I picked from a friend’s garden, simply slotting them into the existing twig base.

I ended up going a little further with the hydrangeas than I’d planned, but I love that you can still see little bits of the original wreath peeking through. It gives it that slightly wild, collected feel rather than looking too perfect.

And if you don’t have an old wreath to work with, you could easily create this from a simple twig base too.

A little reminder that sometimes you don’t need to start again, just add a few new layers.

And the best bit, because everything is dried, it should last for months, it may just may need a few new additions next year.

Colour pops & scallops. Adding a bit of fun to Lillian’s new room.

Painting the picture rail first creates a defined band of contrasting colour, then adding a similar toned scalloped wall sticker (so easy to apply) instantly softens the line and brings in a playful shape.

It’s such a simple way to add depth, colour and a little more architectural interest without making a big change to the room.
