We caught up with Bryan our Health & Safety Manager to talk about his role and how we keep Health & Safety a priority across our projects.

Good Health and Safety is built on trust. When our operatives, supervisors, managers, subcontractors and clients trust one another, people speak up, hazards get reported and everyone works together to prevent accidents before they happen.

Health & Safety isn't a one-off exercise. Through regular site inspections, reviewing our procedures and learning from experience, we continue to improve how we work and keep our teams, residents and clients safe.

It's not just about policies and paperwork. It's about identifying risks, putting the right measures in place and making sure everyone understands their responsibilities.

At Diamond Decorators, working safely at height starts long before anyone leaves the ground.

Before work begins using our vehicle-mounted cherry picker, our trained and competent operators carry out the necessary pre-use equipment checks, assess site-specific risks and ensure appropriate safety measures are in place.

From safe positioning and ground conditions to emergency lowering procedures, fall protection and clear communication, careful planning is essential to keeping our teams and those around them safe.

Our approach is simple: the right equipment, the right training and the right safety measures for every task.

Please welcome Jaiden to Team Diamond! 👋

Jaiden has joined us as our new Business Administration Apprentice and is settling into the office life alongside Sonya, Tina and the rest of the team.

She's getting involved in day-to-day admin tasks, learning our systems and processes, and gradually building her skills and confidence with support from the team.

Alongside her role at Diamond, Jaiden will be attending Tameside College she works towards her Business Administration qualification.

At Diamond, apprenticeships aren't just about learning a trade on site. Our office team plays an important part in the business too, and we're pleased to be supporting Jaiden as she starts her career.

Behind the Scenes at Diamond HQ! 👋💎

There's more to Diamond Decorators than the work you see out on site!

Our Contracts Managers, Dom and Ryan, split their time between the office and site visits, overseeing projects, checking progress and quality across our social housing and commercial contracts.

Back in the office, Sonya, Tina and Jaiden keep things organised, handling enquiries, tenant appointments, client communication and the paperwork needed from start to finish.

Alongside the team, Phil and Kerry are involved in the day-to-day running of Diamond, looking after the operational and commercial sides of the business.

It's a busy office, and no two days are quite the same, but teamwork keeps everything moving!

Looking back at the Tameside Job Fair

It's been two weeks since we attended the Tameside Job Fair, and what stood out most were the conversations with people at different stages of their careers, from school leavers exploring apprenticeships to those looking to return to work or take a new direction.

Having members of our own team there also made a real difference, giving visitors the chance to hear first-hand what it's like to work at Diamond and the different career paths available.

Events like these are about more than recruitment. They're an opportunity to connect with our local community, support people looking for their next step and hopefully encourage the next generation into our industry.

World Mental Health Day: “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.”

Meet Kieron, a member of our Diamond team, who today is sharing a personal story about his journey and what joining us has meant to him. We appreciate his openness and the trust he has placed in us to share it.

For us, being an employer means getting to know our people, taking time to listen and recognising when someone might need a little more understanding.

Working in the construction industry can bring its own pressures, and we won’t always know what a colleague is dealing with outside work. Taking time to check in, listen and offer understanding can make a real difference.

That’s the working environment we want to build at Diamond, across our site and office teams.

👋 Meet Dom, one of our Contracts Managers at Diamond Decorators.

Here, Dom takes us through the works currently underway at a property in Rochdale, including the preparation required before the new flooring can be installed.

Alongside our core painting and decorating services, our in-house multi-trade team allows us to deliver additional property repairs and associated works, providing clients with a more complete service.

From initial inspection and preparation through to completion, our team coordinates the different elements of the job to keep works progressing and minimise delays.

Another good example of the wider range of services being delivered by the Diamond team across our social housing contracts.

Meet the newest member of Team Diamond! 👋

We’re delighted to officially welcome Bobbi local young man from Denton to the Diamond team as our newest Painter & Decorator Apprentice.

Bobbie will be learning on the job, gaining hands-on experience and developing his skills alongside the Diamond team. We’re looking forward to seeing him progress and become part of the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

He’ll be developing his skills with us on site while completing his apprenticeship at — a great start to his career in the industry. 👏🏼
