Perth’s Heather Garden is looking beautiful in the sunlight this morning. The volunteers of Beautiful Perth do a great job maintaining these wonderful spaces. We always need more volunteers so please come and join us sometime and we can promise a great community and good coffee, cake and chat too!

Even though it’s nearly the end of September this garden still has enough blooms for a bunch of cut flowers 💐

I finally got around to seeing the floral clock at Princess Street Gardens while I was in Edinburgh today. It’s just beautiful, such a great job by everyone involved 💚

One of my clients has some really unusual plants including this super dwarf variety of Sorbus. There were several plants grouped together getting swamped by moss so the screwdriver was brilliant at freeing them up so we can see the lovely autumnal colours 🍂 This was on Monday and today was pulling down some huge old shrubs - the variety is one of my favourite parts of gardening!

Bindw**d (Calystegia sepium) is one of the more invasive w**ds around. The white flowers are beautiful and good for wildlife but the stems grow several metres long and can smother other plants eventually. It’s hard to remove all of it because it grows from even the smallest bit left in the ground. I’ll keep battling it here. Let me know if you love it or hate it in your garden! **dywednesdays **ds

In less than a year have made this bare patch of ground in to a proper allotment. They have done a great job and it makes me want to do more with my tiny space! So pleased for them and it was an extra bonus to see it in the sun after all the rain last time building the fruit cage 😂 Well done ladies, I’m in awe of all your effort!

Panicum elegans ‘Frosted Explosion’ is an annual grass I try to grow every year. It looks great in all kinds of flower arrangements but I especially love it with just a single dahlia. The dahlia here is ‘Wishes and Dreams’.

I’ve had the pleasure of doing some garden work for Perthshire Women's Aid over the last few weeks. It has mostly been clearing w**ds so far but it has been fun to chat about some possibilities for the garden going forward. Such important work they do, I’ve been glad to be a tiny part of it 💕🌼 **ding
