Hythe Edwardian Refurbishment — Part 2: The Ensuite
Following the fire that caused extensive damage to this Edwardian house, we had the opportunity to reconsider the first-floor layout rather than simply putting everything back as it had been.
We reconfigured the principal bedroom and the adjoining bedroom to create a much more generous principal suite, incorporating a walk-in dressing room and this new ensuite bathroom.
The colour palette was developed directly from the bedroom. Soft blue handmade-effect tiles pick up the blues of the botanical mural, while warm brushed brass adds another layer of warmth against the quieter neutral finishes.
The bathroom includes a double vanity, freestanding bath, generous shower and recessed storage, but the aim was for it to feel very much like an extension of the bedroom rather than a separate scheme.

From fire-damaged shell to principal bedroom.
This Edwardian house in Hythe, Kent had suffered extensive damage following a devastating fire.

We were involved early in the refurbishment, working through the house to rethink the layout and then develop the interiors as it was brought back to life.

In the principal bedroom, the aim was to create something calm and elegant, while reflecting the bubbly personality of the client and her love of flowers.

The oversized botanical mural became the starting point, wrapping around the room rather than being confined to a single feature wall. The teal, soft neutrals and touches of warm brass were then carried through the lighting, textiles and into the new ensuite bathroom and dressing room.

I love the contrast between the photographs taken during construction and the finished room — it's sometimes easy to forget quite how much happens before you reach the pretty bit! ❤️

A lovely weekend of buying another very special piece of artwork from one of my favourite artists Sally Sayers who was exhibiting in Chelsea. This one is called 'Wilding'.

I can literally look at these amazing textures and colours for hours. As an interior designer it's such a pleasure to choose art for myself. This is my fourth piece of Sally's work to hang on my own walls! ❤️

A sneak peak of our Folkestone project.
Great design isn’t simply about selecting beautiful products.

It’s about understanding how a space functions, respecting the character of the property and carefully layering materials, colour and texture to create a cohesive result.

In this beautiful Edwardian house, an underused attic space was transformed into a light-filled bathroom while retaining original features including the cast iron fireplace.

One of the biggest misconceptions in interior design is that everything needs to match.

In reality, the most beautiful spaces are built from a palette of tones, textures and materials that work together — not identical finishes.

Here, we’re layering warm timbers, soft neutrals, textured wallcoverings and subtle metallics to create depth and cohesion.

It’s about balance, contrast and restraint — ensuring each element complements the next without competing.

This is where the design really happens.

We've been very busy for the last few months. Take a look behind the scenes at this exciting new build in Essex.

Not every stage of a project is polished, however, this is where it starts to get really exciting. Lots more to come from this one as all the final details get pulled together.

A first look at a recently completed new build we’ve been working on.

This project was all about creating a home that feels warm, calm and easy to live in — while still feeling refined and considered.

We developed the spatial planning and layout, material palette and detailing throughout.

It’s always rewarding seeing everything come together on site.

Some amazing trades were involved including the extremely talented who hand built the kitchen and who supplied the gorgeous stove.

More from this project coming soon.

Nearly finished and the brushed brass fixtures are looking beautiful!

This beautiful bathroom is nearly finished in our full house renovation in Hythe, Kent - it’s always so exciting seeing the final details come together.

The brushed brass fixtures add warmth and contrast beautifully with the glazed blue tiles, helping to create a space that feels both calm and quietly luxurious.

Looking forward to sharing the finished project soon!
