A love letter to Morocco. 🇲🇦
In 2003 I went on my first proper airplane on our first abroad holiday which happened to be Morocco. Where my parents were offered many camels for me - a long lived family joke.
I visited again several times in 2012-2014 to surf in Taghazout and to go to Marrakech. It’s always been a special place to me but it’s been 13 years since I last went and oh my I fell hard for this incredible country all over again.
The colours, the warmth of the sun, the tiles, the textures, the patterns, the palm trees, the cacti, the food, the hustle and bustle, the noise of the souk, the cats, tbe birds, the craftsmanship, the ceramics, the handmade things on every corner, the haggling and of course the people! Inspiration on every corner!
It was a brilliant trip with so much love and giggles Belle Cornwall Silver Studio ❤️ we ate at some amazing places too FLOWERS , YAZEL / RESTAURANT / MARRAKECH , LE JARDIN - Marrakech Dardar Rooftop Marrakech La fontaine des épices and spent everyday shopping looking at beautiful things. I finally made it to Jardin Majorelle which has been on my bucket list for years and we bought many carpets from the most gorgeous corner of the medina Modrop .
I just love how everything is handmade, the clitter clatter of tools, the skills, the appreciation, the pattern, the design possibilities, the choice to make something beautiful, unique and different.
What an absolute treat of a trip, and I may have learnt to use my phone a bit better too with top tips from Belle 🤣 hopefully I’ll be less of a grandma on it🤣.
