⚡️ Absolutely off my t**s on MDF and instant gratification.

Is there anything better than finishing that fiddly bit you’ve been putting off because it looked like an absolute ballache??

The serotonin levels are frankly irresponsible. 💃🪩⚡️

BUT WHAT’S THE CATCH?! 👀

The cost of living is bad enough without finding out I’ve been unnecessarily spending money on ugly metal corner brackets. 🫠

I guess this is what happens when you learn DIY from the internet instead of your dad. 😅 Anyway, consider this my formal resignation from the corner bracket club.

Fellow self-taught DIYers, meet the pocket hole jig. Quick, easy and ridiculously satisfying for building timber frames and cabinetry. And I’m not even sure this is a great one, I just didn’t want to commit to a spenny version until I knew I’d use it.

But before I find an excuse to use this absolutely everywhere, I need the experienced joiners / carpenters to weigh in.

Are pocket hole joints as good as they seem, or am I about to learn another lesson the hard way?

The house we bought vs the home we made… because WOW she was FUGLY. 😂

We’ve still got a LOT of house left to do, but with our fixed mortgage ending next March, it’s nearly time to get her valued again. 👀

I was wondering whether we’d actually added that much value… then I looked back at these kitchen before and afters. Surely we’ve got that lower LTV on LOCK?! 😂🤞

Also, mortgage rates currently = terrifying. Have we left it too late?! Any remortgaging wisdom, I’m ALL ears. 🫣

Postpartum takes a lot from you… thankfully, taste isn’t one of them. 😂🤌

Ad | I’m sorry but WHY are nice office chairs so hard to find?!

My one requirement was something that did all the proper office-chair things, without actually looking like an office chair… because this little WFH set-up is slap bang in the middle of our lounge and I simply refuse to ruin the vibe now. 😂

The wood. The rattan. The curves. 🤎👌 But plot twist: she’s actually SO comfy too. The curved, cushioned seat is properly soft and supportive — which, when I’ll eventually be spending full working days parked on it, is rather important.

So yes, she swivels, she rolls, she’s ridiculously pretty AND my bum is very happy. A rare office-chair win all round.

Office chair? Where? 👀

Ad 🚗 If I’m going to spend my days stepping on approximately 847 tiny cars, I’m all for storage that’s also a toy and looks lovely enough to leave out. 🤎

Safe to say Remi’s personalised garage from has been a BIG hit with both of us. I love finding pieces for the kids’ rooms that are properly designed for play, but don’t make me want to shut the door on the entire room at the end of the day 😂

The little parking spaces, ramps and personalised sign 🥹👌 He’s absolutely obsessed — and I’m just thrilled I might now stand on 50% fewer cars.

👇 A reminder for anyone currently living amongst the dust and never-ending to-do lists… ✨

One day, the mess will be gone. The late nights will be forgotten. And the spaces you spent so long dreaming about will become the backdrop to their childhood. ✨🫶

Summer’s room is basically finished, and I think this might be my favourite transformation yet. 🩷✨ Now I’m off to go and create some magic on Remi’s mezzanine nook ✨⚡️
