Just a reminder it’s only a week now until my next guided walks

The Leegomery Great Autumn Walk and The St George’s Great Autumn Walk

Join us for 1 or both to learn the history and habitats of these fascinating areas

Halloween ghost stories may also feature 😁

On the day the first frosts came to town a lovely group met at a sunny Dawley Park for my ‘Habitats and History Walk’

We enjoyed Autumn sun, changing leaves, fungus galore but yet some signs that summer is still very much here - with unseasonal sightings of bees on the wing foraging on flowers that typically by now would be resting for the colder months 🤔

Huge thank you to Veolia - UK for supporting these and Friends of Dawley Park for arranging.

Also massive gratitude to those who turn up and come along, including local historian Graham whose biblical knowledge of the area superseded my own and really added value to the morning 😊

My next open walking events are Saturday 31st October at Hurleybrook LNR and Albion Hill respectively - Hope to see you there 👏🙏

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your 24hour roll call for tomorrows free habitats and history walk at Great Dawley, funded by Veolia - UK Envirogrant and commissioned by @ Friends of Dawley Park 🙏❤️

Is there a finer way to spend your Saturday morning?

Children and well behaved dogs welcome 🤗

Wow! Just wow 🤩 The before and after shots of Ricks Enviromental CIC latest Social Value project with Capgemini show a contrast like night versus day 👏A sizeable section of the Historic Madebrook water course is now flowing beautifully, with clearer water which will have higher oxygen levels and lower nitrates helping its wildlife thrive (with removed waste distributed into aesthetic piles to allow any existing creatures water re-entry)

Another very proud day on our Local Nature Recovery Journey - a real difference made by a business team showing they really do care about Sustainability 😊🙏

A few photos from the weekends work, when I’m not at work encouraging others to volunteer to benefit themselves and the natural world, I run my own volunteer group on my local nature reserve (as a volunteer) that brings people together to improve the area.

This week my amazing team completely renovated a much-loved (but lost) woodland trail and prepped a newly-established wildflower meadow for extra seeding

Massive gratitude to all those who took part (including Steve from Telford Drainage Solutions who came with his kids to join mine in the effort too 😊)

What could you and/or your team achieve in one of my sessions? Would love for you to join the cause 🙏❤️

Taking the time to spot the weird and wonderful 🙏

Both an honour and a privilege to be invited to guest speak at the Shropshire Chamber Sustainability Conference yesterday, hosted at the sustainable and gorgeous venue of Organic Farm, Market Drayton.

I’m always over the moon when the message and goals of Environmental CIC are so well received by an audience, particularly among this business community where there are people in the room who have worked with me and are walking testimonials of what I do (huge thanks to BizEd Projects CIC Shropshire IT Recycling and Carbon Digital to name a few)

Also delighted to stand among friends and showcase the work of Sustainability Solutions - the new partnership of local businesses committed to helping your organisation achieve its sustainability goals.

All in all a wonderful morning 😊

Just a gentle reminder of my next free nature walk courtesy of The Friends of Dawley and Veolia - UK Envirogrant.

Saturday 17th October 10am - 12.30pm

All ages and socialised dogs welcome, find full details at The Great Dawley Autumn Explore 😊 🙏❤️

On this day last year Ricks Environmental started its much needed campaign of installing nest boxes and specialist habitat with an XL luxury Owl Box built by Property and install commissioned by @ The Friends of Hurleybrook.

From there further Owl/Bat/Bird boxes were installed in Ketley Paddock Mound (thanks to Ketley Parish Council), Horsehay Pools LNR (thanks to Veolia - UK Envirogrant and Friends of Horsehay Pools) and specialist habitats for Owls, Bats, ground nesting bees and overwintering insects were built on with funding coming from further Envirogrant finance and labour provided by Capgemini, Fujitsu Zoo and Friends of Holmer Lake & Madebrook

Further details of the 26/27 Nest Box and specialist habitat Sponsorship Scheme are coming soon and I'd love to expand the number of local businesses and groups we work with on this.

Get in touch if you'd like to know more.... ...and keep your eyes peeled for further updates 🙂

Wishing you all a happy Friday
