The theory of layered lighting.
[ Our bodies respond to light more than we realise. Harsh, overhead lighting can feel stimulating, while softer, warmer light helps create a sense of calm as the day winds down. Layered lighting is the art of combining ambient, task and accent lights at different heights and intensities to create depth, warmth and a sense of ease.
And as the evening sets in, warmer, dimmer lighting can support your body’s natural transition towards rest by being less disruptive to melatonin production than bright, blue-enriched light. ]
Because good lighting doesn’t just change how a space looks. It changes how it feels. And sometimes, how you feel in it. 🤍
