I 4 INCONTRI
7 ottobre · CENTRO & FLUSSO — Lo spazio interiore

21 ottobre · STRUTTURA & CONNESSIONE — L’organismo vivente
Parti, struttura e relazioni

Entrare, uscire, ricevere e rilasciare

A CHI È RIVOLTO?

With the arrival of autumn, home once again becomes an important place of connection.

After travelling, new experiences, encounters and spending more time outdoors, we return to the place that will hold us through the seasons ahead. We return to our rhythms, our habits and the spaces of everyday life.

But we do not always return exactly as we left.
Experiences transform us. They change our needs and shift our priorities and desires. Coming home can therefore become a valuable opportunity to ask ourselves whether the space we inhabit is still in tune with the life we are living today.

Sometimes we feel the need to renew our relationship with our home. We sense that it is time to make changes to our space, so that what surrounds us can once again reflect and support what is changing within us.

This is where Feng Shui can help.
A Feng Shui consultation begins by reading what is already there: the home as it is today, the way we inhabit it, its qualities, the relationships between its spaces and any existing challenges. This helps us understand where we are starting from and what potential for transformation can be activated.

It is not about applying predetermined solutions, but about allowing insights to emerge from the relationship between the person, the space and the present moment, providing direction for the design process and the choices that will shape its transformation.

Reconnecting with the space we inhabit can become a way to reconnect with ourselves, give form to what is changing in our lives and restore the energy we need to move forward.

Exploring the Body–Home Connection in Feng Shui

What if our body and our home were speaking the same language?
Our body and the spaces we inhabit are living systems. They have a centre, boundaries and structure. They breathe: they receive, contain and release. Like us, they exist in a balance between stability and movement, protection and openness.

In Feng Shui, the Qi of the body and the Qi of Heaven and Earth are interconnected, continuously influencing and responding to one another. The spaces we inhabit shape the way we move, feel and live, while our presence and movement continuously shape the space around us.
During these four QiMotion sessions, we will explore this deep correspondence between body and home through fundamental principles of Feng Shui, experiencing them directly through creative movement.
From inside to outside — centering, containment, connection and exchange will become a journey through the body, and a new way of perceiving the spaces we inhabit.

THE 4 SESSIONS
7 October · CENTER & FLOW — The Space Within
Centre, emptiness and the movement of Qi
Exploring the centre as a place of stability, orientation and potential. From stillness to movement, from emptiness to flow.

14 October · CONTAINER & CONTENT — Holding Space
Boundaries, containment and openness
The body has a skin; the house has an envelope. We explore the balance between protection and permeability, containment and freedom.
21 October · STRUCTURE & CONNECTION — The Living Organism
Parts, structure and relationships
Body and home are systems made of different parts connected into a whole. Through movement, we explore support, articulation, balance and connection.

28 October · OPENINGS & EXCHANGE — Breathing with the World
Entering, leaving, receiving and releasing
Doors and windows allow the house to exchange Qi with its surroundings, just as the body constantly exchanges with the world. We explore opening and closing, receiving and releasing, inside and outside.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
4 Wednesdays in October
7 · 14 · 21 · 28 October 2026
8:00–9:30 pm · Rome time (CEST)

Designing the Void

When we think about architecture, we naturally tend to focus on what we build: walls, roofs, materials and details. And yet, what we experience every day is not the matter itself. It is the space that matter encloses.

The Taoist tradition expresses this idea in a famous passage from the Tao Te Ching: “Thirty spokes converge at the hub of a wheel, but it is the emptiness at its centre that makes it useful.” In the same way, doors and windows are openings within matter — voids that are essential to making space usable.

Architecture and Feng Shui share this same insight: designing is not only about shaping matter, but about creating a harmonious balance between solid and void.

The void is not a space to be filled, but a potential to be preserved. It is the breath of architecture: the space that welcomes light, allows Qi to flow, and gives life the freedom to unfold. For this to happen, the void needs to be contained and protected. Not a dispersed emptiness, but a space capable of naturally receiving and retaining Qi, creating a sense of intimacy, belonging and well-being.

It is through this balance between solid and void that a house becomes a living place — one that can support the growth of the people who inhabit it and open up new possibilities for them to thrive.

This is why, in Feng Shui, the void is never an absence. It is the potential held by matter, allowing life to unfold.

Ogni giorno alterna luce e buio.

Sell or Renovate? Where do you and your home stand?

The homes we live in accompany us through the story of our lives. As time passes, they ideally evolve with us: we adapt them to our changing needs, renovate them, and rethink the way we live in them.

Sometimes, however, a home's character is so strong that transforming it becomes difficult. At other times, the space itself becomes so deeply intertwined with our personal history that we feel the need to let it go and make room for a new chapter.

Whether driven by practical, functional, financial or emotional reasons, moving home is an important decision that also requires a significant inner commitment.

It is not uncommon to find ourselves suspended between two possibilities:

Should I sell or renovate?

For some people, this question remains unanswered for years. They put their home on the market without ever feeling truly ready to part with it, or they postpone improvements because they keep telling themselves, "I'll be moving sooner or later." Over time, this indecision creates a kind of suspended state that can generate frustration and uncertainty, eventually affecting other areas of life as well.

It is precisely at this stage that a Feng Shui consultation can become a valuable opportunity to gain clarity.

It allows us to look at the relationship between ourselves and our home from a new perspective. How much of its potential are we truly using? Can it still support the changes that lie ahead? How much capacity for transformation does it have? Could a different organisation of the existing space, rather than moving to a new home, better respond to our evolving needs?

Or has that home genuinely completed its journey with us?

Feng Shui helps us relate the potential of a home to the needs and aspirations of the person living there today, revealing possibilities that may not yet have been considered.

Clarifying what we truly need from the way we live also means reflecting on the stage of life we are currently experiencing—and the one we wish to move towards.

Because gaining clarity about our home often helps us gain clarity about our life as well—whether that journey continues in the home we already have, or whether the time has come to find a new one.

Following the natural order of things: this is the key to good Feng Shui.

In nature, nothing happens by chance. Every element finds its balance within a dynamic, living system of relationships.

Architecture works in the same way.
A good project does NOT emerge from applying formulas or predetermined rules, but from the ability to understand what makes each place, each situation, and each person unique.

Rooted in Chinese metaphysics, Feng Shui is, above all, a methodology for reading and designing the environment in a way that supports the human settlement within the landscape.

As my teacher, Howard Choy, used to say, Feng Shui can be described as an "expertness of circumstances": the ability to understand the specific characteristics of a situation and translate them into coherent design decisions.

For this reason, every project is different. Whether designing a new home, renovating a building, or simply reorganizing a space, the starting point is always the same: observing the relationships between all the elements and allowing them to guide the design process.
Harmony cannot be imposed. It can only be recognized.
