DAY 1 LOOKS GREAT IN PHOTOS.
But we're rather interested in Day 183.
By then, the shopping has come home hundreds of times.
Guests have visited.
New things have appeared.
Chargers have multiplied somehow. 😭
That drawer you thought would be β€œplenty” has been properly tested.
And the beautiful room has stopped being a showroom.
IT HAS BECOME YOUR LIFE.

YOU MEET IT LAST. A LOT HAPPENS BEFORE THAT INTRODUCTION.
Funny when you think about it.
The first time you properly meet your new cabinet, wardrobe or interior is usually when it is becoming part of your space.
But that's nowhere near the beginning of its story.
Before it reaches you, there are people preparing materials.
Machines being set up.
Pieces being worked on.
Measurements being checked.
Components moving from one stage to another.
Small decisions being made that you'll probably never notice individually.
And that's rather the point.
Because when the finished piece finally reaches your home, you shouldn't have to think about every step that came before it.
You should be able to look at it and think:
β€œYES. THAT BELONGS HERE.”
The finished interior gets the introduction.

Naturally, your eye goes straight there.
That's where the TV goes.
But when Riso plans a TV wall, that rectangle isn't the whole brief.
What happens above it?
What belongs below it?
Could the sides hold things that otherwise need another cabinet?

Sometimes it needs cabinetry.
Sometimes it needs storage.

Something happened here. πŸ‘€
We have evidence.
Wood dust.
Cut pieces.
A workshop floor that has very clearly had a day.
But there's one thing missing from this photograph:
the thing being made.
And that's what we like about it.
Because most interior photographs begin when everything is finished.
Doors closed.
Surfaces cleaned.
Room styled.
Camera ready.
This one comes from much earlier.
The stage where an idea has stopped being only an idea and work has actually begun.
So here's today's challenge:
Can you tell what was being made from the evidence alone?
Kitchen?
Wardrobe?
Storage?
TV unit?
Something else?
We won't pretend the photograph tells you the answer.
But it does tell you something simpler:
