Maybe honoring where we come from is about seeing what else it can become…
These two very ordinary childhood favorites grew up with us. And we still love them very much today.
✨Roti Kahwin Sourdough Cookie
At Billy Goat, Roti Kahwin becomes a Sourdough cookie, where we took something as familiar as Kaya and butter and gave it a very today kind of life.
✨Milo Dinosaur
As for Milo Dinosaur? We turned the chocolatey, malty goodness and turned it into something we’d never have imagined ordering as a kid - Tiramisu.
✨Kimchi Acar Toastie
The Sarawakian Acar used to be a once a year kinda thing, the burst of flavor that made its way onto every table during CNY.
This toastie is proof that the world got a little smaller over the years, when we too started eating the Korean Kimchi with everything.
Then once upon a day in Billy Goat, these two flavors met and got tucked into something we can now grab on any ordinary day.
✨Honeycake
We put the local Rajah Borneo Honey into this beloved layered Russian cake that feels worlds away from our local market. Topped with blueberries, walnuts and local figs, this one has earn itself a growing fanbase at Billy Goat.
✨Organic Guava & the Asamboi
If you ever wandered through a local fruit stall, you probably know this pairing. So… we took that very Malaysian fruit stall feeling and brought it into your everyday cafe run.
If you’re from Kuching, you’ll know that the ✨3rd mile market✨ has been part of everyday kuching long before Matcha became a thing here.
So, our Matcha Coconut beverage starts from this market, where our fresh coconut water is sourced.
Because sometimes, making something new doesn’t mean finding something nobody has seen before.
It means looking at something familiar with fresh eyes.
Here’s to growing without forgetting all the little things that shaped us! Happy Malaysia Day!
