Meet Our Judge: Barenda de Brugge

We are thrilled and honoured to introduce the legendary Barenda de Brugge, part of the CEAA judging panel!
With an illustrious career spanning the golden era of modeling from 1975 to 1982 under the iconic Nell Barnard modeling agency. Barenda is true royalty in the industry. During her phenomenal modeling career, she captured numerous prestigious titles, including:
Miss Bloemfontein
Miss Bloem Roos
Miss Bloemfontein Show
Miss Lambons Ford
Miss Maselspoort
(...and many more!)

A true pioneer of print and fashion, Barenda’s face graced the pages and campaigns of prominent publications and leading retailers such as Die Volksblad, Edgars, Jet, Greatermans, and John Orr’s, working alongside elite photographers like Du Nell and Stella Nowa.

Following her marriage in 1982, Barenda transitioned her vast expertise to the other side of the stage, lending her discerning eye as a respected judge for numerous major beauty pageants and modeling exams.
With decades of industry insight, elegance, and a profound eye for talent, our contestants are in the absolute best hands.

Stepping into history with our CEAA contestants in September 2026.

During our unforgettable CEAA Talent Competition at the Bahia Bleu Hotel, our contestants took a break from the stage to embark on an incredible Historical Walk through Mossel Bay.

Award-Winner Anke 🌟🏆

We would like to congratulate Anke for her outstanding talent, courage, and music. She is a beautiful Gr 12 student from Mossel Bay with an exceptional vocal gift.

Shortly before the CEAA competition, Anke was unfortunately involved in a motorcycle accident that prevented her from performing on stage. Despite this setback, her extraordinary talent was recognized at the highest level, earning her an Overall Virtual Award, as well as a Gold Medal for her song entry! 🥇

Her music career continues to flourish with two successful singles already released: "Vir 'n Vrou" and "Weet Jy" (Rooksein).

Thank you Ronel for visiting Anke on behalf of the rest of the CEAA Team, and the hand over of her medal and trophy.

We would also like to acknowledge Roelf Fritz for his invaluable contribution to the lyrics and music video production, as well as the team at Zondagkraal for their continued mentorship and guidance throughout her singing career.

Anke, as you continue on your road to recovery, please know that we are all standing behind you and cheering you on! Your strength, talent, and passion are an inspiration to so many.

Meet Ronald – Educator, Musician, and Choral Leader!
From teaching Afrikaans and Culture to shaping legendary choir performances, Ronnie’s passion for music runs deep!

A Proven Track Record:
Countless victories at eisteddfods & national competitions
Winner of the 2008 Kaap Choir Competition (and subsequent adjudicator!)
He led choirs at major “Kunste Feeste” & released a choir CD last year
They also released with 4 albums as a Male Band

Whether he’s directing school and church choirs , judging or taking the stage himself, Ronnie’s energy and expertise shine through.
