YOU ASKED, SO HERE THEY ARE!

After all the love and interest in my Johnny's zinnia giveaway, and so many of you asking if you could buy some, I've decided to share a few more...

I've managed to get four varieties from Johnny's Selected Seeds in the USA, and they're now available in very small quantities on Trade Me! I bought these for myself, why not learn to grow zinnias with the best!

The greenhouse has had its spring makeover, and honestly, she was LONG overdue. Basically we didn't do it when we put it up and everything was all over the place and shelves wobbly and I was fearful of losing seedlings!

All plants and boxes out, fresh space cleared, and plans for a whole lot of dahlias and seed-growing chaos are officially underway.

A massive shoutout to Tom, who deserves far more credit than he gets for helping make it all happen. Every flower-obsessed person needs someone who supports their questionable gardening ambition. He's great at helping keep me level as well as the floor haha!

We're not quite finished yet, but it's already looking like a whole new space. And trust me, the plans are growing faster than the plants at this point.

Now tell me, are you a tidy greenhouse before you start person, or a chaos first and sort it-out later gardener?

I'm 100% a fix it up later!

Nobody warned me about this part.

It's not the endless tasks, the digging, the dividing, the storing, the lists that multiply overnight. I can handle all of that.

It's how much your heart hurts waiting for this... all winter long.

Somewhere in all the crates the potatoes are quietly and slowly becoming this again. And every single moment waiting, without fail, I forget how completely and utterly worth it it is.

Until spring arrives and reminds me exactly why I will never, ever be sensible about dahlias.

Anyone else already counting down the days? You are not alone.

But someone else make me feel ok by saying you've not started your dahlia bed preps also!

I probably shouldn’t be telling you this... but I just can’t keep it to myself, I'm terrible at giving surprises, I always want to share the excitement of exciting things!

I have another giveaway up my sleeve, or should I say, in my pocket! Can you guess what it is?

I've been planting trays of these all afternoon... They're a new flower for me (well apart from growing the Lilliput Mix as a child!) and I've managed to get my hands on some pretty special seeds not available here in New Zealand... A little diversion from dahlias!

Life Recently, the never ending digging, washing, splitting...

Hi dahlia lovers!

Blithe Dahlias will be at The Floral Collective Spring Plant Sale this Saturday!

I'm thrilled to announce that we'll be part of The Floral Collective's Spring Plant Sale at Clarkville Hall. So much more exciting that just shopping there (that was my plan this Saturday morning!)

This Saturday
10 AM to Noon

I'm bringing a wonderful selection of dahlia tubers, and I'm excited to share the first lineup of varieties available!

These are just a few of the varieties I'll have available. I'll add another list tomorrow! Remember, some are in very limited supply, so arrive early to secure your favorites! The tubers will be organised by flower type, so you can easily find what you’re looking for. I'm a collector and dahlias are primarily just there to make me happy. At the moment I'm not growing for the cut flower market or planting with the intention of selling bulk tubers so this year I've only had one clump of each variety and some have stored poorly. My love comes from the wide variety of shapes, colours and forms.

I can’t wait to share my love of flowers and chat about all things dahlias. The sale will also feature cut flower seedlings and plants from other stalls, so there's plenty to explore and enjoy. Not to be missed if you like your own cutting garden at home!
