RAH SEASIDE HOTEL | Cebu City
Originally conceived as a family home, the building has undergone a series of transformations throughout its lifetime. Following a fire that rendered its upper floors uninhabitable, the structure was adapted into a warehouse, serving a practical purpose while quietly carrying the memory of its past. Today, it is reimagined as a boutique hotel, transforming a place shaped by resilience into a destination centered on experience, character, and contemporary hospitality.
The design is anchored on the dialogue between man and nature, expressed through a palette of weathered corten steel, textured masonry, reflective water, and thriving vegetation. Rather than concealing the effects of time, the architecture embraces them. Steel develops a rich patina, masonry records years of exposure, and vegetation gradually inhabits the built form, creating a quiet contrast between permanence and growth.
Greens are woven throughout the project, emerging from facade recesses, elevated planters, terraces and water features. These living elements soften the rigor of the architecture while introducing movement and life. Their presence reinforces the notion that nature does not merely surround the building but actively participates in its evolution.
