Keeping my hands busy while waiting for the move, so here’s my latest project in progress—a cross-stitch piece for Machado Coastal Builds. Not much else to do in the trailer at night! What do you think so far?

🇵🇹✈️ Big news — we’re heading to the Azores!

Lori and I will be spending January 7–14 (there abouts) exploring São Jorge and Pico, getting a feel for the islands and laying the groundwork for our move.

If anyone out there wants to connect about work opportunities, accommodations (short-term or long-term), or just meet up for a good meal and a drink or two, we’d love that. 🍷

We’re especially keen to meet locals, expats, or anyone familiar with island life who’s up for a chat, a laugh, and maybe a bit of advice.

Hey everyone!

Thanks for following along so far — I really appreciate it! 😄 I’ve mentioned before that I’m in the process of applying for the D2 visa to move to the Azores and start my renovation/build work.

I’m curious if anyone out there has gone through the D2 themselves — especially around accommodation requirements or letters of intent for work. I’d love to ask a few questions and get some real-world advice if you’re open to sharing.

Welcome, new folks — glad to have you here.

If you’ve just joined the page, thanks for showing up and checking out what I’m working toward. This isn’t some polished development company with a marketing team — it’s just me, a builder with a bag of tools, a stubborn work ethic, and a vision.

I’m working on something different in the Azores — restoring what can be saved, building what needs to be new, and doing it in a way that respects both the land and the locals.

There’s a long road ahead, and a hell of a lot of unknowns. But that’s part of the point.

I’ll be sharing updates as things progress — sketches, plans, builds, and probably a few crooked boards and bad jokes along the way. Stick around if you’re into that kind of thing.
