What’s the hardest house to design?
1️⃣ A luxury penthouse
2️⃣ A landed property
3️⃣ A house that is effortless to maintain 👈

Most designers focus on how a space looks on photoshoot day. But no home stays in showflat condition 24/7.

Homes are meant for kids to grow, for family clutter, and real memories. But when you need to reset it for guests or buyers, smart design does the heavy lifting for you. It’s about lighting, proportion, and built-in storage that let you reset your space in minutes.

What is the ONE space in your home you give up trying to keep clean? Comment below! 👇

Shoutout to Pinetree Hill owners! 👋

First time sharing a behind-the-scenes WIP reel. This is just one small detail segment of the overall project, but it shows our approach to new condo design.

When getting keys to a brand new condo that’s going to TOP soon, it might look like there isn’t much to change. But real luxury is in the subtle details. Like millimeter-accurate metalwork, intentional panel joint lines, and custom lighting integration.

That’s what turns a standard developer unit into a home that feels uniquely yours.

A double-volume ceiling is a double-edged sword. Left uncalibrated, it quickly becomes an echo chamber of cold white drywall, awkward AC placement, and unused vertical void.

At 19 Eightythree, we don’t just fill high ceilings—we give them scale.

Look at the transformation in this loft. Instead of letting the double-height wall feel like an empty void, we clad the entire vertical expanse in full-height textured stone tiles, balanced by dark wood-slatted framing along the mezzanine axis.

Upstairs, a dead corner was re-engineered into an intimate, fully integrated study nook wrapped in deep walnut cabinetry—turning awkward open space into functional, cozy focus zones.

True volume isn’t about how much air you have above your head. It’s about how intentionally you anchor it.

The void eliminated. Stature engineered.

Final Part: The ultimate plot twist. 🏔️✨

We’re wrapping up our final walkthrough of The Sterling, and we saved the best spatial adjustments for last.

First up—the master bathroom. We leaned heavily into that raw villa resort aesthetic, matching intense black stone walls with organic Bali green tiles.

Then, the master bedroom constraint. Instead of settling for a default developer layout that restricts your bed placement, we flipped the entire perspective. We engineered an integrated walk-in wardrobe axis, repositioned the bed, and created a completely hidden vertical TV console right by the window frame.

When you design with intent, you don’t just fill a floor plan—you solve it.

A massive thank you to everyone for the incredible saves and shares on this series. It means the world to a team of designers just trying to share our craft.

The series is complete. The transformation speaks for itself.

Real talk: Good interior design isn’t just about making things look pretty. It’s about navigating compromises.

For this project at The Sterling, we were dealing with an awkward, sharp slant wall right in the main living space. My initial design instinct was to go bold—a parallel divider wall, a raw stone-clad kitchen island, and a conversation-centric lounge layout.

But design doesn’t happen in a vacuum. The homeowners have growing kids and multiple pet dogs. They needed space to breathe and run around.

So, we pivoted. We scrapped the divider wall to maximize open floor space for the dogs. To handle the slant wall, we engineered a custom, full-height timber wall that curves gracefully around the room, hiding a flush-mounted display screen and eliminating a bulky TV console entirely.

The result? A warm, sophisticated family home that doesn’t compromise on flow or function.

Drop a 🪵 if you love how that curved timber wall turned out.
