Currently, I am quoting work for a potential customer in Lacrosse, WI, doing some ongoing work for several local clients, and doing a design for a new client in Ontario, Canada. Look for the work for my Canadian client to be featured on my website in the coming months.

Creative Automation has engaged with two new clients this week, and has secured 40 hours of design work. Both of these clients have expressed an interest in establishing a long-term working relationship. This will make for a very good first quarter, which was decidedly not the case last year! Many thanks to Don Mathews and Shawn Nelson for making these connections for me.

Creative Automation has recently added several new clients. I have already done a small project for one new client, and another has committed to at least 20 hours of work in the near future. I also have been in talks with another potential client about forming a long-term relationship to do work on a as-needed basis. These three clients have made contact with me due to some networking I did at the begininning of the year, so it is good to see those efforts paying off. Many thanks to the clients, colleagues and friends who have made this such a sucessful first year for me. I deeply appreciate your business and confidence in my services. A happy and prosperous New Year to all!

Things are finally heating up again! Today I had to turn down an offer to work a 6 month contract doing some project management and FDA validation and documentation. I wish some of this would have been spread out over the summer!! Fourth quarter is always busy, and this year is no exception.

I just landed a contract that is supposed to last 6 months. This is great news for me, as it will make a pretty good year for me. Unfortunately, I needed to accept the contract through another contract staffing company, so it doesn't have the same tax benefit as taking the contract myself. I will likely be doing other work on the side however, so I'm sure it will make up for the downside.

I'm excited to be going to my very first SolidWorks Users Group meeting at WITC in New Richmond, WI this afternoon. I'm hoping to make a few connections with some local manufacturing companies, as well as learn a few new things about SolidWorks:-)

It's been a pretty busy month with plenty of new activity. I've been working a few small projects, but may have a long-term contract coming up this week. I also have a couple other jobs that I will be getting in the near future. It is shaping up to be a very busy fall. A good fourth quarter will make it a great first year for Creative Automation Design!!

I got a call on Wednesday from a contact at a western Wisconsin company about some work he needs completed. I went out to his facility on Thursday to look at what he needs done. I provided a quote on Friday and hope ot hear back on Monday. This will be about two weeks worth of work. It was very nice getting an unexpected call to do some work. Hopefully when this project is done, my other client will have funding for their project! It could turn out to be a fairly steady summer.

Visited a local automation builder/integrator today to meet with one of their engineers. I hope to be able to help them with some of their custom projects. These projects will likely be smaller, and will have a long enough schedules to work them in with work from other clients. This should be an ideal client. I think this visit went very well.

On Wednesday, I met with a client to review the quote I presented to them on June 4. They were very positive, and very complimentary on the work I have done to date. It's always good to get positive feedback!

I have just completed a quote on a manufacturing cell for a local automation builder. This quote is on the second revision of a previous concept drawing. The end customer is very happy about the end result, and is ready to move forward with the project.

I have just finished an 8 week contract with a local automation OEM. They needed help getting a multimillion dollar medical/pharma machine released for fabrication. This system has manufacturing, assembly and packaging combined in one system. The system is rated for class 10,000 cleanroom, and consists main of stainless steel components.

I also completed a machine concept for another local client who is bidding on a system for a local entrepreneur. This machine is for processing a new design of an existing medical device component. This will likely lead to a 6-10 week design project for me if their customer likes their quote.

My current contract is still going, and I am working on a concept drawing for another client. The concept will be a full design job if my client's customer gives them the contract to build the machine. This could turn out to be about a six week project if all works out well. That would be a good boost to get me through part of the summer.

My current contract is going well, and has been extended for at least another week in order to get assemblies released for manufacture. The lead designer is on vaction in Hawaii, so I am going to help get things rolling (have a great time Greg!!) I also got calls on Thursday and Friday from two different clients to do some work for them. These are both new clients, so I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with them. My networking efforts earlier in the year are paying dividends, and I am continuing to grow my base. Cheers!
