It’s 7pm. There’s Lego under the couch, a puzzle spread across three rooms, and someone is upset about a missing unicorn.
Asking kids to try harder rarely fixes this. Giving every toy an obvious home usually does.
Here’s how we set up playrooms. Cubbies at child height, one category per cubby. Pull-out bins inside, so a whole category comes out and goes back in one move. Picture labels, so kids who can’t read yet can still put things away. One oversized basket for stuffed animals, because nobody needs to sort a stuffed animal.
The part parents don’t expect: we start by editing. Outgrown toys, duplicates, the things nobody has touched since spring. A system only works if it has room to breathe.
If your playroom could use a reset, send us a message or find us at wearesws.com.
