Why Accurate Measurements Matter More Than You Think

Here's something homeowners rarely see in the beautiful finished photographs.

Before we begin designing cabinetry, ordering furniture, or changing a room's layout, we spend a tremendous amount of time measuring.

And we're not just measuring walls.

We're checking ceiling heights, windows, doors, plumbing locations, electrical outlets, appliance dimensions, and the clearances needed to move comfortably through a space.

A beautiful cabinet design won't work if the refrigerator door can't open properly.

A gorgeous dining table isn't very useful if there isn't enough room to pull out the chairs.

And a stunning bathroom vanity needs to accommodate plumbing, storage, and comfortable access.

Good design isn't simply about making things beautiful. It's about making sure everything actually works.

Who says the smallest room in your home has to be the most ordinary?

We absolutely love designing powder bathrooms!

Because these spaces are typically used for shorter visits, they're wonderful places to introduce a little drama and personality.

Think beautiful wallpaper, an unexpected vanity color, a statement mirror, interesting lighting, or gorgeous tile.

You can be a little more adventurous without committing to a bold look throughout your entire home.

And because powder rooms are often smaller, a carefully chosen feature can make an incredible impact.

Sometimes the smallest room becomes the most memorable one in the house.

Before You Remove That Wall...

Open-concept living is wonderful, but removing a wall involves more than deciding where you'd like the new opening.

Before demolition, there are important questions to answer.

Is the wall load-bearing? Are plumbing lines, electrical wiring, or HVAC components running through it? Will the flooring and ceiling need repairs? How will the change affect cabinetry, lighting, and furniture placement?

Sometimes removing a wall completely transforms a home.

Other times, creating a larger opening or thoughtfully designed pass-through can accomplish the same goal while preserving important architectural features.

The best remodeling decisions begin with understanding the entire space—not just the wall you want to remove.
