🚨 SOME THINGS ARE SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE! 💧

We don't believe in tearing down other companies to make ourselves look better. But when we come across something that could put a homeowner's health and safety at risk, we believe it's important to educate people.

Recently, we visited a homeowner who was experiencing a terrible odor in their basement near the water softener. Their water also smelled awful.

What we discovered was shocking.

Whoever installed their water softener had actually drilled a hole directly into the home's main sewer stack to connect the softener drain!

Yes, the very same pipe that carries sewage and wastewater out of the home!

Not only was this an improper connection, but the installer had also damaged the home's sewer plumbing in the process.

⚠️ Here's why this is such a serious problem!

That sewer stack carries wastewater, sewage, and sewer gases. An improperly drilled or poorly sealed opening can allow sewer gases, odors, and potentially wastewater to escape into the basement.

It can also create a potential pathway for contamination involving the water treatment equipment.

Think about that. This family relies on their water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and everyday living, yet an improper installation may have compromised the safety of their plumbing system.

Unfortunately, some water treatment companies subcontract installations to outside handymen or installers. Regardless of who performs the work, the company selling the equipment should be making sure it's installed correctly.

Constant Drain Leaks? Check Your Seal Stack Assembly! 🚰
If your iron filter or water softener is constantly dripping or running down the drain, a fouled seal stack is usually the prime suspect.
As shown in these photos, heavy iron accumulation blocks the valve’s internal seals, preventing the system from sealing off after a backwash cycle. Typically, when a stack gets this severely fouled, the filtration media inside the tank is heavily loaded with iron as well.
For homes with iron in their well water, we strongly recommend an annual Water Man house call. Regular checkups keep your control valves clean, protect your filtration media, and prevent unexpected water waste.
