I had the opportunity to help an Engineer WOIC class bring their class plaque to life. They sent me an AI-generated image and asked if I could turn it into a real, layered plaque.

This is one of those perfect examples of how AI can be both incredibly useful…and an absolute nightmare to recreate in wood!

And yes, I fully appreciate the irony of using AI to help me write a post about how difficult AI made this project. Ha!

I never actually asked, “Why beavers?” But when you think about it, it makes sense. Nature’s most determined little engineers are constantly building, solving problems, adapting, and making things happen, which seems pretty fitting for the future of the Army Engineer Corps.

I really enjoyed the challenge of turning their idea into something they can hang on the wall for years to come.

Another 31" U.S. Army Ordnance Corps Warrant Officer plaque complete! 🦅💣

I really love how the Ordnance branch colors stand out on this one. The red and yellow give the Eagle Rising a bold look that definitely gets your attention.

This plaque also features interchangeable magnetic ranks, so the plaque can get promoted right along with the Warrant Officer! There’s no reason to wait until CW4 or CW5 to get one, just plan ahead and order the additional ranks so you’re ready for the next promotion.
