Busy? Yes. Complaining? Absolutely not.

Just a little designing, decision-making, and making things pretty. Our favorite things to do.

Some rooms invite you in. Others make you want to stay.

Sometimes it’s the room that quietly becomes part of everyday life, the one people naturally gravitate toward, where conversations happen, where everyone unwinds, and where the little moments unfold.

Dark and moody spaces can create a different kind of warmth. Richer, more intimate, and a little more enveloping, they have a way of making a room feel like a place to settle in and stay awhile.

A favorite room doesn’t have to be the brightest or most impressive space in the house. Sometimes, it’s simply the one that feels the most inviting.

Taking a moment for the Park Project.
What started as 2,500 square feet of unfinished lower-level space became something entirely unexpected, a layered, moody mix of mid-century glamour, texture, and a little bit of edge.

We weren’t just designing a lower level. We were creating a mood. And this one still has us looking twice.

There are a lot of “rules” in interior design.
But we’re less interested in following a formula and more interested in creating homes that feel thoughtful, personal and genuinely livable.

We won’t design your home around the latest trend.
We won’t choose something beautiful if it doesn’t function for your life.
And we certainly won’t tell you that every room needs to look like it came from the same showroom.

Instead, we’ll ask questions. We’ll consider how you live. We’ll thoughtfully layer colour, texture, materials and pieces that feel like you.

Good design isn’t about creating a home that looks perfect for everyone else. It’s about creating a home that feels right for you.

A little pattern can go a long way.

If you’re curious about wall coverings but not quite ready to make the leap, the powder room is a great place to start. It’s an opportunity to introduce more texture, color or pattern without committing to a larger space.

Small room, a little more freedom to experiment, and plenty of opportunity to make a design statement.
If you could wallpaper one room, which would it be?

California neutral is having a moment, and we can see why.

There’s something so effortless about the way this aesthetic blends warm neutrals, natural materials, comfortable silhouettes, and a light, airy feeling without ever feeling too precious. The key is keeping it personal, relaxed, layered, and collected rather than overly styled.

A few pieces from Architectural Digest that caught our eye lately:

The Ingrid Sherpa Chair by , the Jordan Table Lamp by , the Wunder Outdoor Fire Pit by , and the Coast Hutch by .

Four very different pieces, but each brings that easy California sensibility we love.

POV: when the vacation is the inspiration.

Our very own Kristen recently went on a beautiful vacation with her family, and while the beach, sunshine and family time were the main event, her designer eye was still taking it all in.

From color and texture to materials, architecture and all the little details in between, inspiration has a funny way of finding you, even when you’re supposed to be off the clock.

A beautiful fabric. A weathered finish. A unique chair. A handcrafted pot. The way natural materials work together. These are the details that catch Kristen’s eye and make their way into her mental inspiration library.

Because being an interior designer isn’t just a job you switch off at the end of the day. It’s the way you see the world. And as a mom, so much of her life is about creating beautiful experiences with her family. So why not let a little of that magic inspire the spaces we create, too?

We can already imagine these colors, textures and materials translating beautifully into a coastal home on Cape Cod, Newport or Martha’s Vineyard.

Consider this our version of being busy... and we love it!

At Glass House Design Group, we sweat the small stuff so our clients don't have to, thoughtfully considering every detail until a space feels cohesive, personal, and just right.

Because the goal isn't simply to create a beautiful home. It's to create one that feels effortless to live in.

A rainy day in Boston calls for a little design inspiration!

Come sourcing with us at the Boston Design Center, where we spend the day exploring showrooms, discovering new collections and searching for those unexpected pieces that can make a client’s space feel truly their own.

One of the most important parts of our sourcing process is that we don’t design on repeat. Every project is approached with a fresh perspective and every selection is made specifically for the client, their home and the way they live.

And that’s also why you won’t find us sharing specific selections or sourcing details from our client projects when people ask. Our clients have invested in a unique, one of a kind design, and protecting the originality and privacy of that work is something we take seriously.

We can absolutely share the inspiration, the process and a peek behind the scenes but the magic of the final design belongs to the client.

Sure, choosing fabrics and picking out gorgeous furniture is the fun part, but it actually only makes up about 20% of what we do (which is always a huge reality check for our summer interns!).

Truth is, being an interior designer means wearing a lot of hats.
Long before the final reveal, we’re knee-deep in budget spreadsheets, coordinating with architects and builders, managing timelines, solving on-site surprises, and keeping a trillion tiny details moving forward.

That said…we’re not going to lie. Playing with the pretty stuff is still our absolute favorite.
