If you are going to drive on the Brigantine Jetty or the North End (from the entrance to the bird tower) you MUST have a 2019 or 2020 Brigantine Beach 4x4 Permit. If you want to drive on the FRONT beach of Brigantine you MUST have a 2020 Riptide Spring Derby Permit ALONG with a 2019 or 2020 Brigantine 4x4 permit. If you are going to drive the NJ State owned North end property ( North of the bird tower) you MUST have a NJ STATE MOBILE FISHING PERMIT. If you want to walk, jog, run, skip, or hop on any Brigantine beaches you must have a brain :) Please be practice social distancing and stay safe out there as officials will be watching what happens this weekend with the nice weather to help them make a decision on keeping the beaches opened or closed this Summer as the article says. We all know the beauty of the Brigantine beach and the serenity that it brings to the ones that enjoy it. PLEASE be safe out there as it is going to be a busy weekend with the nice weather ahead of us.

Thanks and Have a Great Day

I guess I should mention one other thing, YOU MUST HAVE A 4x4 TRUCK OR SUV TO GO ON TO THE BRIGANTINE BEACH ALONG WITH ALL THE APPLICABLE PERMITS.

I am up to 8 cars so far this year for the 2021 Beached Cars of Brigantine Calendar and would like to have it printed for the Summer :)

Thanks and Have a Wonderful Day

New Jersey officials will offer guidance to municipalities on how to manage beaches during the upcoming summer months, Gov. Phil Murphy said today.

The governor said the guidance on beaches will be driven by how people behave once state parks reopen this Saturday.😯

“We’ll see how it goes in terms of opening parks. If folks do what we’re asking them to do, that will have a huge impact on our ability to take what I call baby steps,” Murphy said. “Let’s see how parks go, but no decisions yet or imminently on beaches.”

With New Jersey expected to begin phasing out its stay-at-home order sometime within the next few weeks, residents and tourists are wondering: What will a Jersey Shore Memorial Day look like this year?

Seems to be enough room on the beach for us to Social Distance 😎

The Edison has just been canceled.

Due to concerns over the spread of the Coronavirus, this weekend’s Saltwater Fishing Expo in Edison, NJ has been cancelled. In a statement late Wednesday afternoon, Frank Hugelmeyer, President of the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) which runs the event said the decision to cancel comes as a result of the evolving Coronavirus outbreak in the tri-state region and new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “While the decision to cancel the Saltwater Fishing Expo comes at a time of great uncertainty, we believe this is the most prudent course of action to help protect our staff, members, exhibitors and attendees,” Hugelmeyer said.

Had one of my favorite young anglers, Max out for another charter and he was kind enough to bring his father and grandfather along. Hit the spot with a barrage of RipTide Bait and Tackle baits, and the assault was on. Finished a couple short of a limit, as Max had a birthday party to get to, but great day. If you are new to driving your 4x4 vehicle on the beach or you have some fears of doing it here is a great class that will get rid of most of you fears. It's put on by the NJBBA ( New Jersey Beach Buggy Association ) and I highly recommend that you take this. I know many people that have taken it and they all said it was a great course. Not only will they increase your knowledge of driving your 4x4 but will also give you some great tips to make your driving experience on the beach a great one. There are also a great group of men and women in the NJBBA and you will get to meet several of them while you are there. It's a one day class and I know it fills up quick so don't wait.

I was just thinking about where I was and what I was doing on 9/11/2001 when the first plane hit. I can remember it like it was yesterday and the feelings that I had back then still makes a tear run down my cheek. And just like then, a rush of anger comes over me for what they did , and then a feeling of happiness as I remember how we all came together as one to help and fight back and let "them" know that we will never give up and we will NEVER forget!! A BIG THANK YOU goes out to all our first responders, and to those that lost their lives we will always keep you in our prayers as you will NEVER be forgotten.

God Bless America

Nothing but pure sunshine all day so far on the Rock. There is an East wind 5- 10 that should drop out after 5:00 pm. The night fishing should be perfect with the exception of a possible pop-up shower. The Absecon Inlet is really heating up with keeper flounder as Andy Smith had 8 keepers the past 3 days including 3 keepers today but his first 20 fish today were all shorts until the top of the tide came around then the big ones started to feed. Gulp and a teaser rig was his set up and he said that most of the fish hit the teaser. Today's low tide will be at 2:51 pm and the shop will be open until 4:00 pm. Call if you need any bait left out back.

Thanks and Have a Great Day

Earlier this week I got to spend some time with the Team behind Brigantine Beach 4x4 Assist and boy did we get lucky! Mother Nature gave us a killer backdrop for these vehicles. But I am not gonna lie, my favorite was hearing the engine block of the vintage Jeep ;).
When Dave from Brigantine Auto and Marine approached Captain Andy of RipTide Bait and Tackle with the idea of the 4x4 Assist program Andy knew this was something that would instantly benefit Brigantine 4x4 goers.
Brigantine has many great features, but by far one of my favorites
is our 4x4 beaches. But lets face it, we all need a little help from time to time, so for $75 you can protect yourself (Jan 1st to Dec 31st) and guarantee that solid backup is in your corner. Brigantine Beach 4x4 assist with be there to assist you if you find yourself in a jam. Maybe you ran out of gas, or you got a flat tire, no problem. With Brigantine Beach 4x4 Assist in your corner you will be able to kick of your flip flops, drop in on some killer waves, and enjoy the salt air without a care in the world. To sign up for this program stop into to RipTide Bait and Tackle and talk with Captain Andy.

Keep it local!

What is Brigantine Beach 4x4 Assist?

If you drive a 4x4 on Brigantine Beach then you know how bad the sand can get at times. We have all gotten stuck, locked our keys in the car, had a dead battery or had some other reason why our truck would not move on the beach. If you didn’t have any friends around or it was 2:00 in the morning and had to call a tow service then I’m sure you felt the pain in your pocket. You get charged anywhere from 250.00 to 600.00 for them to come out and help you. Now if you join our club for a very nominal fee you will have our service 24/7/365 at a moments notice to help you solve your problem. We have 3 deuce and a half trucks and a jeep with a 10,000 lb winch on it that does most of our work. If you have a problem on the beach and your truck won’t move just give us a call and we will be there. A one year membership will be 75.00 and we will have an early bird discount of 65.00 if you sign up in January. All those services and a sense of security on the beach for a very nominal fee.

Thanks for stopping by and reading

I bought my 2020 4x4 permit today and went to drive on the beach. Accessed from the North end and headed South toward Cove. I got about 4 blocks down then was stopped by a Brig cop and was told I have to purchase a surf fishing tourney permit to be able to drive from N to S all year long. Sidenote... I'm aware of permit to access North end and go more North, that regulates access due to piping plover issue, that you have to get thru state at Bass River, but that's not what the cop was talking about. Has anybody else heard of this?
Thank you so much for the quick and awesome service tonight! Best experience!! 👍👍
Looks like another idiot at The north end
I just want to say thank you for being there at 9pm to come pull me out when I was stuck just yards from the incoming tide. If it wasn't for the great guys at Brigantine Beach 4x4 my truck with everything I own for fishing would have been ruined. You guys have no idea how grateful I am and just want to say it again THANK YOU.
This one looks like fun! LOL
